They have Clemson ranked 1 followed by Bama, LSU and Ohio St. Surprisingly we aren’t in their Top 25. Also was surprised to see they have Georgia at 11.

I don't think the Jamie Newman experiment is going to work out like they have it planned in their heads. I'm not surprised we aren't ranked, Tennessee still has some work to do

I figured we would be ranked 24 or 25. We are on a little roll finished on a 6 game win streak with the bowl win.

LSU lost a lot of talent. Too high
Ga has a lot of talent too low
Clemson gets an automatic playoff bye every year regardless of talent.
Every poll has to have Ohio State near the top or their fans get their buckeye panties knotted up.

I'm not surprised. Until we do more than barely sneak by Kentucky and eke out a win against Indiana, we don't deserve much love from know nothing pontiffs and yapping heads. We got to earn our way back. And despite my own and many of your belief that our choo-choo train is picking up steam and we're coming. We aren't there right now. Here's hoping we sneak up on OU end up knocking very loudly at the P5 competency door. Until then:

You keep a knocking but you can't come in
Come back when you've proven your worth and try it again

You say you're back for real but you can't come in
Come back when you've proven it and try it again

So until then, keep a knocking but you can't come in

Keep a knocking but you can't come in

I agree we need to get a win against Oklahoma, Bama , Georgia or Florida doing that and going 9-3 or 10-2 would earn us alot of respect back

Clemson and Ohio State should be ranked highly . They have the 2 best QBS coming back from teams that already made the CFP.

Both have significant unknowns at QB. Burrow was a big part of what turned LSU into national champs.
LSU will fall off, but still good. UGA, Bama, UF all should be top tier, as usual. However, for first time in years, the delta between top teams vs TaM, Auburn, and UT is going to be smaller. So, to me, it's more about who puts it all together in that second tier. We've got just as good of a shot at being in the mix as anyone of the other top legacy programs for the past 5-10 years. I think TaM is in a tenuous spot. Jimbo either needs to start winning some high level west division games or he'll be squarely on the hot seat w/ his $7mm salary.

I lways like these preseason predictions and then compare them to thw record at the end of the season. Last year they looked like idiots and will likely change their appearance this year.

That seems to have underlying hate.
I think we’ll be somewhat surprised by Texas nxt season.
Well, I'm a Sooner fan, so underlying hate is in my DNA.

Regardless, as was pointed out in another thread, Texas and Georgia tend to do less with more each and every year regardless of how talented their roster is. Tom Herman is 24-15 at Texas and is firmly in the hot seat this year.
