Apparently that guy has a brother at their little home base in the mountains and he along with Rick are going to go back for him and Rick's weapons in the next episode.Never reading the comics it was good I guess. I didn't like how the managed to sneak through using zombie blood and guys but that's just me. What happens to the guy on the roof?
I didn't care much for their idea either, seemed a little much. Didn't Rick pick up a grenade from inside the tank? I would think that would be a sufficient distraction, but whatever. Felt bad for Francis getting left on the roof....

In regards to fast v slow zombies:
I am paraphrasing from World's Best Dad: Zombies are the walking dead. Death should be an impediment. Not an energy drink.
The idea of zombies are that they are seemingly harmless one on one... But when a hoard appears that is when you are screwed.
I've seen some people that had problems with the Merle Dixon character. While he wasn't in the comic book and I didn't like him, I think that was the point. Set up conflict for the next few eps, and give Rick a chance to show that he is both 1) a leader and 2) willing to break the rules in this new world.
