Wow, the premiere had huge rating numbers. It had 5.3 million viewers, and was the largest audience for any cable series premiere this year. It's also the highest premiere numbers for any series in AMC's history.

It's a drama. If you are expecting zombieland, you'll be disappointed.

Absolutely. There will be some action elements as the story progresses, but it is about people who are living in a world with zombies. People is the key word there.

Quick question, as the show progresses are those who haven't read the comics going to be left behind? Or can one watch it and get the main idea of it without reading them?

With Kirkman and Darabont handling the story telling, I am certain that there will be no issue for anyone watching, they are just that good at telling stories. The first episode did an outstanding job of capturing the beginning of the story (with some new goodies thrown in for those of us who know the story). I was excited, but a touch skeptical, about the translation onto the screen. They blew my expectations out of the water.

Glad to see it did well, I really enjoyed it.

That are ridiculous numbers for cable, especially in a 10ET timeslot. The show is getting great reviews, too. This might be one of the biggest cable shows ever by the time all is said and done.

Just rewatched the scene that went back and forth between Morgan with the rifle and Rick in the park. Unbelievable.

The scene with Morgan trying to shoot his wife was powerful. That would have to be hard to do. Lennie James is a good actor. He does a good job playing Tonya's pimp buddy on "Hung".

Yes it was. It was emotional in both cases. I felt bad for the woman crawling across the field. They really did a great job with that scene.

In regards to fast v slow zombies:

I am paraphrasing from World's Best Dad: Zombies are the walking dead. Death should be an impediment. Not an energy drink.

The idea of zombies are that they are seemingly harmless one on one... But when a hoard appears that is when you are screwed.

So if you die, even if not bitten, you raise in this show? Some are like that, some aren't.

I could be wrong, but thought I heard or read as long as your brain hasn't been destroyed you will regenerate.

Also apparently the zombies stop attacking you after they get used to you.

So these zombies don't run like in Dawn of the Dead, but they do eat animals (unlike the dog being unharmed in DotD)? Interesting

I just love how the comic was written with a survival guide sense to it. This isn't your average zombie story... there aren't a lot of careless mistakes to add any silly effect to the story.

In the comics, they stop attacking you if they get used to you (takes a long time) or if you smell like them.
