"Walking Dead" on AMC

So what did everyone think of tonight's epi? Quite different than the comic, but I liked it.

Never reading the comics it was good I guess. I didn't like how the managed to sneak through using zombie blood and guys but that's just me. What happens to the guy on the roof?

I didn't care much for their idea either, seemed a little much. Didn't Rick pick up a grenade from inside the tank? I would think that would be a sufficient distraction, but whatever. Felt bad for Francis getting left on the roof....

Apparently that guy has a brother at their little home base in the mountains and he along with Rick are going to go back for him and Rick's weapons in the next episode.

i'm glad someone else besides me had that comparison in their head:lol:

In regards to fast v slow zombies:

I am paraphrasing from World's Best Dad: Zombies are the walking dead. Death should be an impediment. Not an energy drink.

The idea of zombies are that they are seemingly harmless one on one... But when a hoard appears that is when you are screwed.

I noticed that some of them started running a little in last night show.
Seems they have a mix of the walking and jogging zomb's.

Some zombies are less decomposed (and thus a little faster) than others.

That's been around since the classic zombie movies.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Not as good as the first though. The scene where Rick an Glenn walked with the dead was awesome.

I've seen some people that had problems with the Merle Dixon character. While he wasn't in the comic book and I didn't like him, I think that was the point. Set up conflict for the next few eps, and give Rick a chance to show that he is both 1) a leader and 2) willing to break the rules in this new world.

Eh, I don't wanna spoil anything, but doesn't he demonstrate both of those later on with Dexter from the prison?

i'm not sure what he's like in the comics, but the shane guy appears to be more and more of a huge doucher with each passing minute.

I don't think he was in the hospital very long. Seems likely they were already having an affair.

Want to pick up the first trade and read soon.

Classic doucher, that isn't a bad enough guy to warrant killing/leaving behind, but still a persistent douche.

Wonder what he's going to do with that grenade?

I liked the creation of the racist douche bag character, by the way. In such a situation, the ass holes are sure to live longer than the sweet and kind folks. Gonna have to deal with them.

I don't know why the black guy didn't make sure he had the hack saw at the very least, after dropping the key. But then, I don't see how he let himself drop the key... lame. And I would have freed him the second they said to get ready to leave, that they had a plan. There was time.

Did it ever show what happened to the black guy and his son, that was on the first episode? If they did, I missed it.
