Von Pearson Update

Dobbs is skipping the NFL to go there.

That planet's 1400 light years away, so the earliest Dobbs could get there would be 3415 AD. That's assuming we somehow figure how to travel at the speed of light to a planet whose atmosphere we hope won't change significantly from what it was like in 615 AD, the time when the images scientists analyzed today using astronomical spectroscopy originally started traveling to Earth.

We live in a fascinating universe.

He's traveling like they did in Ender's Game.

Good point brought up this am by Swain on Von. With the Federal investigation on the university for sexual assault the university may not let him play until an internal investigation is complete

It was an off-campus incident. How much investing do they have the authority to do? If he's cleared by police, then the only responsibility I see the school has is to make sure the accuser doesn't have any classes with Pearson, so that she has a comfortable learning environment.

He is still a student and that's exactly what the Feds are investigating. They don't care what the local police say. So the university/team are better off to not let him play in the event that anything turns up. That's my guess

The Feds are only concerned with how UT handles the situation.

if he really is back in Knoxville all of a sudden a few days before camp then thats pretty telling IMO. Hopefully theres some answers one way or another very soon.

The feds are investigating an incident that an accuser said the university didn't handle appropriately. There's a good chance it's a completely unrelated case.

If Pearson's cleared by police, I doubt the university is able to turn up anything major. They just have to act appropriately concerning all accusations. As long as Peason is not the focus of an active police investigation, I think he's allowed back with the team.

KPD won’t clear Von. They will either close the investigation, leave the investigation open indefinitely or establish probable cause for a warrant, arrest Von and turn the arrest report over to the DA, who will decide what charges, if any, are warranted.

UTPD’s investigation is another matter entirely.

I don't disagree with the technical aspects of your post, but in the event that the cops close the matter, UT will probably follow suit. It would be hard for the Feds to find fault with UT for deferring to a six month investigation by the police.
