Just heard not long ago. someone may do a thread in the off topic forum. absolutely horrible though.

With the length both the Pearson situation and the Johnson cases have taken it would appear on the surface some one /department has issues with the football/athletic department.

You think these things would take this long to play out in Gainesville, B'ham, Athens with the players in limbo?

Didn't you see the ESPN Bernie/Ernie show? Knoxville Police don't like the UT athletes. (Blue font)

This is getting to be BS.... I know with AJ, Williams, and now Pearson, if they are guilty, then they should be punished in the end, but this is now the second high-rated athlete on our team that has been basically banished and this whole investigation and process is moving like molasses... He should at least be able to practice/train at some sort of rate if he has not been formally charged or arrested... sheesh.

Totally agree and I cannot believe that someone with a little juice or power around Knoxville can't push this a bit more, especially now that everyone has seen the snail's pace that AJ's is STILL taking.... ridiculous

Yeah. Makes it seem pretty funny how Treion Harris (or whatever his name is) for the gators was cleared within a week, but Von's case is taking months upon months

Lot of fans feel this way...glad they weren't making team decisions with this Title IX FBI investigation showing at a theater near you.

*conspiracy theory time*

maybe CBJ knows that Von will be back and so does the rest of the fb team. No one is saying anything cause that will be less time teams have to prepare once the seasons starts.....(blue font) :)

Is the investigation over the one reported case only? Meaning it has nothing to do with those that involved the authorities?

Considering this new Fed investigation. Will be interesting to see if Von makes it back on the field.

Actually, the thing that pi$$ed me the most about that article was that the author makes a huge leap (on purpose maybe) from the University being investigated to football players being the reason for the investigation based on there being allegations against football players. I would assume there are other allegations of sexual assault/rape on campus that have nothing to do with football players. The author doesn't know the reason for the Feds investigation, yet she makes the link to the football players that have been accused. I guess innocent until proven guilty doesn't exist within the media anymore when trying to prove a larger more important political point.

I was wondering the same thing,. It says, a report, nothing about after letics whatsoever. I'm starting to see exactly how the Tennessean is going to be handling us from now on.

As long as that writer and Climer are contributors? :pinch:

I may be making a leap, but I would guess the complaint to the federal government has nothing to do with Pearson's case. First, the alleged incident happened off-campus. The school would be responsible for making the accuser's learning environment comfortable and non-threatening. The investigation though falls with KPD. Secondly, there were (sadly) many reports of sexual violence on campus last year. Odds are, the complaint would involve a separate case.

Lol, I'm using speech to text and didn't proofread. But it only uses real words . Of course I know what after is, but what is letics?

either way, should have read athletics

I would agree there are way to many cases of sexual violence on college campuses and elsewhere. It's very sad that young men are no longer taught that no means no, stop means stop. As a dad of a young daughter it scares me that boys aren't taught right and wrong anymore and that their needs aren't the most important thing. I will spend my time teaching my daughter to be very careful and how to fight back if necessary.

I too have a young daughter and understand fully what you mean. I don't necessarily think that there are more cases of sexual violence, but that more women are speaking up.

I can't start a thread so I will ask in here. I live in Kingsport and I hear some news about the program through friends and family of

Swafford and Foreman. This seems to be the first bit of bad news from them but just trying to figure out if it's true, Rumor has it up

here that Swafford will no longer play football for UT, the person said he was kneed in the top of his helmet during the Bowl game and

now has to have surgery(Neck injury). I was also told that bUTch is going to let him keep his scholarship and finish school. Real bummer if this is

true, I have watched him play since pee wee and always thought he was special. It would be cool if bUTch let him finish school though

Just wondering if any of this is true.

GO VOLS!!!!!

From the bowl game, HomeGrown? Wow, that would be a long time (6+ months?) for a player injury to go unnoticed by VolNation. So it seems suspect.

Having said that, I'm clueless, no insider status at all.

You meant to mention something about Foreman as well?
