I doubt the validity of this report. There is no way, in my opinion , that Von accepts a redshirt year. He is already 23 years old, since he graduated high school in 2010. Accepting a redshirt season would put him at 24 or 25 years of age before he gets to the NFL. I just do not see him being willing to wait that late in life to start a professional career.
Eh, I could see it go either way. He most likely won't be drafted if he skips this year and goes pro. He could always end up showing out and earning a good contract (and practice squad money isn't that bad either if you know how to handle your money).
If he redshirts and shows out in 2016, he has a chance to be a mid round pick and get guaranteed money. 24-25 is a little late to start an NFL career, but WR is a position guys can play into their 30s if they're savvy enough.
I think it will all boil down to how patient Von is to go pro and/or how much he wants to win big at UT. If North goes pro after this season and VP could come back for 2016, he'll have a chance to be the go to guy for what should be our best season in a long while.
