"Things looking good on Von front"

"He's enrolled for 1st and 2nd term summer classes. I've spoken to individuals closer to the situation who feel confident he will be back as early as a couple weeks and "almost definitely" by fall."

Good enough for me then. He knows his stuff.

I remember when people thought streaking was funny. America has gotten too serious and sensitive. :thud:

Don't know/ don't want to get into the Von thing, but there's a big difference between general streaking vs exposure to one woman. It's the difference between "Hey y'all, I'm an idiot" vs what feels to most women like the beginning of a threatening sexual move.

Lord knows that in fall 1974, when the skinny (in all meanings of the word) guy pressed his junk up against the Krystal's window at 2 am, I didn't feel threatened. :)

Again, just a general comment with no attempt to know what's going on in the Von thing. That being said, it doesn't seem that hard --excuse me, difficult --to keep Mr. Happy tucked inside until you know for sure that he's welcome.

Sometimes it's hard to follow the context of how something is written in these threads, but the comment Overseasorange made was not in bad taste. His was a response to someone who overreacted to a comment someone else had made about a misunderstood joke.

Thought the reaction to the comment was more an overreaction than the overreaction. :loco:

So where do these guys go to work out and maintain if they aren't allowed to do it with the team? Do the coaches give them a staggered work out schedule so it doesn't overlap or is there a different facility they are allowed to go to?

There's an actual facility set aside specifically for players who are under investigation for serious criminal activity.

Am I supposed to take this response seriously at 2:40am on a Friday night? :)

I think we're the only ones who post this late so at this hour we just kind of have to take each other's word on things.

Did you hear Derek Mason is replacing Gruden next year on "QB Camp"?

That's only because Gruden is coming.

Soon!

If he's still a student he should have access to the student weight room (assuming UT has one, most schools do).

Great news

Please elaborate. Are you saying she's gonna bring a civil lawsuit? A bit (honestly) confused.

What I was trying to point out was that some think it unfair to take some action based on allegations without being convicted because one is innocent until proven guilty. That's true if one is charged with a crime, but when talking about some different type of action being taken (removed from the team etc.) there is no such presumption of innocence.

There is no such "presumption of innocence," sure--because that is a legal (criminal) concept. But that doesn't really answer the criticism that it's "unfair" to kick somebody off the team on the basis of a potentially unfounded allegation.

i interned at a DA's office in one of the biggest cities in the US last summer. Most of the time, defendants go free due to the impossibility of proving rape. It's pretty much he said she said unless the defendant has been convicted before. As much as I love UT Football, I can't be happy knowing that Von is free because usually victims never recover and rape usually did happen.
