Von Pearson Update

I stayed away from all Von pages until today, mainly because he was my favorite player last year and I had met him one of his first days on campus and it really saddens me that this situation is happening. But it happened in early onset of the AJ pages. The girl who went back to Florida was called a liar because she chose to not press charges. The girl who goes to UT had her personal life and decisions dissected, too.

I was asking about Von's accuser and posts in this thread. Additionally, while its far out of bounds and wrong go after a young lady who's alleging she was sexually assaulted, it's completely appropriate to ask questions about the accusation itself and the evidence or lack thereof that supports the accusation...especially given the recent high profile cases where young men have had their lives and reputations greatly damaged and turned upside down by false allegations....namely The Duke Lacrosse Case, the Virginia fraternity/Rolling Stones case and the whacked out Columbia University coed who carries a freaking mattress around campus and has been fully supported by University administration and professors despite overwhelming evidence which shows her allegations were indeed false. There is more than 1 life at stake in these cases. Both should be protected until a conviction or acquittal judgment has been rendered.

I Don't Understand Why You're So Upset. :ermm:

I don't understand why you don't understand. It bothers me that Drylo makes obviously false, and ugly statements.

Deep down, I bet he hates women. At the very least he shows little respect for them, and that's something everyone should find upsetting.

Haha what? Not sure if serious.

people basing horrendous arguments off of faulty research upsets me

Do you mind explaining what is faulty about the stats I cited? I mean, they do come from the rape culture crowd, after all. It's just that apparently nobody stops to think about what the stats ACTUALLY SAY--namely, that 97 out of every 100 times we hear about a "rape," the evidence that the crime actually occurred ranges from nil to inconclusive.

this is wrong!!! This is why we are mad at you!!

You are making this assumption! THAT STATISTIC DOES NOT EXIST ANYWHERE!!!

Dude, I linked to the stats that say that. They were compiled by the people trying to show how ubiquitous rape is and how rare false accusations are (and supposedly derived from DOJ data), but if you actually pay attention to what the stats say, they tell a different tale. Please do tell me what is "wrong" about any of that. TIA.

This is the link you showed yes?

https://rainn.org/get-information/statistics/reporting-rates

This does not say that 97/100 rape cases are falsely accused. This says that of 100 rape cases, ONLY 2 PEOPLE GET TRIED!!!

I dont know what to type right now. You looked at a bunch of numbers and assumed the complete opposite was being shown. You need some schooling boy.

Rape is very difficult to prove. Very difficult. If a case cannot go to trial because there isn't enough evidence, it doesn't mean that the victim is any less raped.

(in a hypothetical instance, not Von or AJ) it's like you're saying that since there isn't enough evidence, that the rape accusation is most likely false

Was there even an accusation of rape? I haven't been keeping up with it, but the article I read said sexual assault in the form of exposing himself to her.

Yep. I'll wait for you to make the connection.

I should say the same. That table suggests that rapes are not being reported enough! You are assuming that the 98 that are let free are innocent!! THAT TABLE IS SUGGESTING THAT 98 PEOPLE GUILTY OF RAPE ARE NOT IMPRISONED!! YOU ONLY SEE WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE!!! There is nothing in those numbers that say that anyone was falsely reported of raped. All this shows is that you have a lack of reading comprehension and are beyond ignorant.

Additionally these are compiled numbers from that actual sources that you are refusing to read. I suggest reading all of them or at least one more. You cannot say stuff like that man. I see what is wrong here, you just didnt read this correctly. Never ever make up something like that. To say 97% of all reported rape cases are false accusations is not even close to what is really going on. It is not even probable.

Sure. But if there's not even probable cause to pursue criminal charges... (Remember, this is the determination that the cops make in over 90% of rape cases.)

to be fair (lol) he only said that 90% were "not credible"

And I'm not necessarily saying that, but I'm saying that the accused shouldn't be labelled a rapist when there's not even enough evidence to prosecute (not "convict," but "prosecute").

The biggest problem with people like this is why everyone thinks things like rape or police brutality is okay. They find some numbers and then they dont actually know what the numbers represent. THEN they go around preaching what their interpretation is when it is usually false. They parade around their ignorance and try to get people to believe them.

If they can't make a case, they can't make a case. There isn't a correlation between not being able to make a case and the veracity of the claim.

YES YOU ARE!! YOU SAID 97 out of 100 people are falsely accused of rape! That is completely wrong, and is not even what your source was showing!

Haha what? Not sure if serious.

Why? These are your quotes in bold:

"Maybe Von should accuse her of rape and get her banned from campus.

In over 90% of reported rapes, police investigate and determine that the allegation is not credible.

Hoist by their own ( "rape culture" propagandists) petard, one might say.

By the way, I'm not saying that false accusers are always lying--sometimes I think they may just be confused."

Is that really your idea of respect?
