Vols Rushing D #3 in SEC

The tackling was really bad last week in the back 7. That's the first thing they need to clean up. UF found way too many holes in that zone they were playing ,that's coaching.. Tennessee has some problems in the back 7 only recruiting and maybe a couple of position coach changes can fix.
Back 7 pathetic. Coaching pi$$ poor. Can’t recruit fast enough.

They're getting burned because the WR has a free release and 8 yd cushion every play while the QB has a clean pocket because we rush 4 and play soft cover 2 or quarters every play
We have nothing on D. No DT, no edge rushers, LB week & DBs non existent. We’re does that leave us?

Ive not played video games in 15 years.

You all wanting Burrell out there, are insane.

You want to hide behind WHAT YOU THINK the coaches are thinking lol. And use that to justify a player that routinely gets beat in every part of the actual game.

As if coaches don't ever get fired🙄...
Not like I was even questioning them anyway. So you and that other fool's take is illogical and irrelevant.

A bit sensitive to criticism are we?

The DL and Edge rushers played a great game, especially stopping the run. They were told to play contain with a 4 man rush. You can still contain and blitz. There were about 5-7 plays I remember us playing man and blitzing and it worked way better than soft zone. And I know everyone will point to Shorter beating Hadden on the 4th and 3 for a big gain. We were in man that play with no safety help, yet we still didn't blitz. Dropped everyone into hook zones so he had all day and a clean pocket again.

It’s a combo of things, as usual. Save for that 1st quarter 75 yd TD run by Pitt when Banks ran the wrong way and I guess our Safety was in the bathroom, our RUN FITS have been pretty darn solid this yr.

Two, it’s nice to have some DL depth. Including edge guys, I think we had 13 DL play Defensive snaps vs UF!

And three, if you’re usually leading in games, the other team is throwing the ball to conserve clock. And yeah, our Secondary is the place to attack this D anyway, until we can improve back there.

Someone posted a photo of the long TD run by Pitt that showed Banks was actually in position at LOS but Pitt OL had his arm around Banks neck holding him back. I remember seeing that thinking how often the refs call ticky-tak holding against our OL on one of our long running plays, but somehow “miss” something that blatant right at the focal point of the play.
