Vols Practice Thread #3

Correct everything changes when your bell could possibly get rung and that goes for all our QBs.
That.. And I just mean it's third and 10. Who checks it down and who throws it to the safety. Who forces it in coverage and who looks at the second option.

If the race were based on God given ability, Pruitt could have declared JG the starter in Spring. I think we all agree with that.

It'll be nice to see full pads in what 3 more days right? Then we will see which QBs can handle the pressure.

I think that was a WR turned safety. Nothing to be concerned about. (He wasnt recruited to play Safety)

Cheyenne Labruzza, recruited as a corner. RS Freshman so he’s very early in the learning curve. Supposed to be a talented kid though, worked with JJ McCleskey prior to arriving to Knoxville in the 2017 class.

Just came off a Knee injury right? Explains why he had trouble in his catch-up speed.

Hope Shrout develops into a top notch SEC QB....after only 3 practices, reports of his arm/physical talent seem to be very promising.

I think he will develop just fine. Seems like he only had trouble in 11v11 and that just comes with experience. He has to still get used to the WRs and also to SEC caliber defensive players. It will come. Doubt he starts this year but I haven't heard anything on McBride which tells me Shrout might be ahead of him?

2 things

1) These media guys are just trying to sell the product: Tennessee Football.
I mean they're not going talk about how crappy the team is before the season starts...

2) They're not coaches. They never really learn...what they cover and observe and write about.
So all they can do IS say the same stuff each year.

My question to you is: At what point do just enjoy Tennessee Football and let everything be?
I’m not talking about the media, I’m talking about the posters on here. It’s ironic to me that everyone talks about how bad a coach BJ was but said the same things about his practice films last year before the season started. Point being, proof is in the pudding. Saying we look like a SEC team now is just a bunch of blow hard nonsense, because the exact same thing was said for the past 10 years of preseason hype

That's called being excited for your team because football is about to start...

We can't change the past.
And there are some positive things emerging from this new team.

What purpose does scepticism serve before any game has played...?

Think about what you're saying.
If the same things are being said every preseason...without fail for 10 years.
And that 10 years is mostly bad mixed with a little success....

Then that means the " fans" can't gauge enough good from bad product.
Right??

So they CHOOSE to be excited. Because it's football time! Which is all they truly can gauge. So why....why criticise??

I want to see the same on byrd. I think he could really be a good slot receiver if somebody knows how to call plays for a slot receiver
Tyler Byrd showed up a few times today at receiver and looked good to me. I kept looking for C F-A and never did see him out there.

So he thinks JG is ahead of the other qbs. Shrout is right there with Chryst. Good news on Shrout.
That cant be right. Many on VN has said that Chryst was the clear cut better QB and he was coming here to start. Those same people have trashed JG even though his stats are better than Chrysts. That, despite KC having a much, much, much better overall team.
