Just as simple as the title states, do you personally see us getting to at least 6 wins given the rest of our schedule? If so, what are the games on the schedule that you see us willing to put us at 6+ wins?

Yes you will get to 6 wins.

Kirby smart lost to South Carolina at home when South Carolina had their third string Quarterback.

No. Though I do now have hope for 5 instead of two.

I'd be glad to see a bowl, but at least maybe we'll finish strong and show HS prospects we aren't a flaming disaster. The most important thing is showing kids some type of progress/stability

Also, OMG Vandy is horrible. Time to go into the off-season with a resounding beatdown of them

We should beat UAB, Kentucky, and Vandy. We will be favored in all of those games anyway.

So that leaves having to beat South Carolina or Mizzou.

I think we are just as likely to lose one of the first three than we our beating one of the last two. So I doubt it. But you never know.

We already lost to Georgia, and we'll be the 1st opponent South Carolina faces after having upset Georgia. What's your reasoning for us getting to 6 wins given your post?

Because I like the way y'all played today, showed fire and grit, and Georgia lost to a 2-3 South Carolina team at home, can't stress that enough.

Getting South Carolina in Neyland is huge IMO. If we're going to have any real chance of getting to 6 wins, I personally think it comes down to South Carolina in 2 weeks. If we beat them, we have a real chance of reaching bowl eligibility. It'll likely come down to if either of their 1st two quarterbacks are healthy and available to play.

I think 6-6 is possible for the Vols right now. I think 6-6 would get a matchup Birmingham Bowl matchup with Temple or Memphis or a Liberty Bowl matchup with Kansas State,TCU or Oklahoma State

Highly unlikely. It can happen, but this team just has such a small margin for error.

I really liked their fight today though, but I don’t think I can believe until they beat Muschump.

4 to 7 wins is the realistic range, as of this evening.

Which is quite the improvement, given that most people were thinking 2 to 4 wins just last Sunday.

The defense that won the game today is vastly improved over the defense that did its share in losing to Ga State week 1.

The offense isn't much improved...yet. Maurer, for all the excitement he brings, is still a freshman making freshman mistakes (like throwing into double coverage). As we saw today, there's a real cost, in points, to those mistakes. Has to mature and learn. [on the flip side, the OL, much maligned the past few years, is finally getting up to SEC caliber--they won't look it next weekend against Bama, but they're getting there].

So...where our defense can carry us, we can win. That might include South Carolina, now that they're on their 3rd string QB (and we get them soon). That might include Vandy and Kentucky. It should include UAB. Might not include Mizzou, though, they're scoring in the high-30s per game.

So give us losses to Bama and maybe Mizzou, wins over UAB and 2 of the other 3 (USCe-Vandy-Kentucky), and that puts us around 5-7 or maybe 6-6.

That's what it looks like to me at the moment. If I were forced to bet, I'd bet against getting to a bowl this year. But it's a very close thing.

If we continue to improve faster than our peers, though...i reserve the right to change this opinion in three weeks, heh.

Go Vols!

No, they play Florida on the 19th (we have Bama) and the Vols on the 26th.

Awesome. Provided we stay somewhat healthy after the annual Bama beating, and S. Car. loses to Florida, we could have a real shot at beating them. The crowd will be rocking!

And even if S. Car. beats. FL, we could easily be a "trap game" for them.

Either way, it's good news as I read from someone earlier that they get a BYE week after beating GA and then play us.

Not seeing it.

SC game looks more difficult now and recent history hasn't been kinda against Vandy and Missouri.

Should stand a chance against all 3 but it'll take playing cleaner games than they played today. Gotta stop with the turnovers in the red zone.
