I agree with the Mega Negative Thread placement.....I have seen members on here with 3-5 years and high thread counts that are Vol Fans posting Negative....These threads should also be considered for this area....I know it is a lot of work for the Mods but it sure would be a solution to this problem.....

This is getting old....and some of these threads are legitmate, some are bizzare, some are there to stir crap and some are because of immaturity.....

For the most part, I truly believe the majority are tired of it.....Speculation usually always takes the negative route on this board....Many are tired of addressing it.....

Example the thread Firing Dooley at Mid Season maybe legit question (I don't think so) has well extended its purpose and still goes on and on.....

If I am an opposing coach I would tell recruits to go to a crediable board (Volnation) and see for myself.....as a form of verification......It doesn't take much to change a High School kid's mind and this site can be a contributing factor.....We all look at the negative and never see the positive statements.....There is plenty here.....

AD staffers monitor web sites for info to be placed into recruiting packets as part of the negative recruiting process. Threads like "how many wins" and "will DD be let go mid season" you can bet your ass are front and center of that process. I am done arguing about this but you people that act like you aren't being used against the program you are supposed to support aren't seeing the facts!

I will stick with 6-7 and 5-7.

Dooley fixes that part the rest is irrelevant.

Another way would be to put a "Thumbs down" on the thread or post and at a point number count of unlikes delete the thread....or post....the ignore button is not working from the sense it serves only an individual perspective and not a removal of stupidity...

I doubt there are many Fire Saban/Miles/Spurrier/Petrino threads on other boards. Lack of continuity was a big factor in the recent decline and it can easily be used against UT. What kid wants to come to a program and get their whole staff changed out after 1-2 years?

Well, you're right about SOME coaches, but there is way more misery than happiness. Only a handful are content with how their programs are doing. Negative recruiting, it's nothing new. It's been going on forever. People are being over dramatic.

Sure winning cures all. Even on this site but for now this site is part of the problem. It effects recruiting. Even the OP admitted it has effected a recruit at Wisconsin a BCS bowl team. Great way to make your point! Lol. It might effect only one kid but that's enough to matter. Its greater than one kid IMO.

sure it has but the question of whether boards like this give them more ammo still remains and is valid.

Let's be honest, that one kid would end up coming to Tennessee and either be a bust, get injured or transfer anyway. Volnation is forever, college recruits aren't.

I think the real issue here is that Dooley is slipping in recruiting a little. So now all the Dooley supporters are drudging up some more excuses for him. Since we obviously can't use youth, conditioning and injuries here. Now it's Volnation's fault, or AD Harts fault.

I am not a member of any rival websites. I look around sometimes , but I don't see this amount of negativity anywhere. Unless it's after a loss and for the most part , it's cleaned up and the mood changes after a day or so. I know alot of teams aren't dealing with the issues we are , but the drama here is just insane. If they are keeping the "trolls" for hits , that is really sad. I am not telling the people who run this place what to do , but if it keeps going this way the word VOL doesn't belong. Just change it to Nation. I get so sick of Florida fans telling us how bad they have it , but at least they let it be known who they are. Same with Bama fans. Though they don't complain lately. Winning will help that of course. But it's the people who signed up in , let's say November of this year and all they do is post the same **** in a different way in every single thread they can find. You know who you are. It actually makes you respect the few who you know are Vol fans , that are consistent with their views , not newbies with a hidden agenda. And I'm not saying there aren't some doing the same stuff that have been here for years. There are too many here not to have more than a few. Thing is I'm not sure anything will ever be done about it , but I agree with the op. No disrespect to anyone , this is jmo.

Those guys have enough to sell. I doubt what is said on volnation is going to be the tipping point on the scale between them and Tennessee.

I agree. What we are seeing today is a reaction to what happened yesterday. If we'd landed the "three amigos", then there would be a string of threads condemning anyone who could've ever thought to question Dooley's process. Since that didn't happen, we get a string of threads explaining that criticism of the staff and/or their process is to blame for any recruiting failures. It's predictable and small minded, and pretty much corroborates my suspicions concerning the analytical ability of some of my fellow Vol fans.

You want to know what sells to recruits- winning and the ability to produce pro players. Our loss to Kentucky is all these coaches needed to swing recruits.

Or our place in the SEC standings. There are plenty of things other schools can use against us. Message board postings would be way down at the bottom of the list.
