Vescovi was key

You’re vastly overrating Springer’s dribbling abilities. His handle isn’t as tight as you think. Santi is extremely one hand dominant with his left, but he’s still a superior ball handler to Springer
I couldn’t disagree more, but you’re welcome to your opinion. And to be clear, I’m not suggesting that Springer is Kyrie Irving with regard to his ball-handling, either.

I’d guess you’ve watched tons of Springer highlights, but I suggest watching the actual games and it gives a much better feel of his game. Here are several recent examples of his games from this season, many full games are on YouTube just take some searching.

His game against Montverde and another are on the espn app I believe. He didn’t play in the most recent montverde img game as he was nursing a knee/leg thing

Worth a watch

I've watched 3 full IMG games this season (Huntington Prep, Montverde, and one other...St. Frances, maybe) and 1 last season. I have also seen him play AAU. Believe me, my opinion isn't based solely on highlights.

Then you would see he struggles some with ball pressure from good and quick perimeter defenders even at the high school level. Watch the games I posted and it’s pretty evident.

Which is understandable, he is a more of a combo guard after all. IMG doesn’t really have a true PG so he sometimes brings the ball up.

Sorry to butt in, but I’ve been wanting to watch some of his games for a while and just found a few minutes. I’ve watched most of the first and third game you posted, the second was unavailable for some reason. I’m struggling to find the struggle you speak of. I see sloppy from time to time(high dribble, unforced walk, stepping on the sideline) which IMO is common with any player today, but did not see anything to suggest him struggling against particular defenders. What he doesn’t do which isn’t as much an indictment as it is a skill is he doesn’t overuse his dribble. When he sees an open man he hits them, and usually he’s hitting them in good spots. He also has GREAT vision for a “combo”. Jmo

If you’re seeing something different watching his games what is it you’re seeing him struggling with?

He definitely has great vision for a combo guard. He struggles some when getting heated up with ball pressure. Much like Santi and Josiah.

You're making it sound like I'm attempting to paint him as the perfect answer at PG. That isn't the case. He has warts. He isn't a pure PG. The point is, Tennessee doesn't have a pure PG absent of warts, either, so he will see minutes there.

I watched the Millard North game. I had him with 6 pts, 7 assts, 2 rebs, 1 stl, and only 1 TO (unforced). I thought he handled ball pressure pretty admirably. At one point, he split a double team with a nice behind the back dribble in the 1st Q. In this game, and in the other several full games I've watched, I just don't see this abnormal struggle against pressure that you do. Sorry. If you are expecting to tune in and see Magic Johnson, then I can imagine the disappointment, but that isn't my expectation.

This is a lot of what I see.

I kept waiting and wondering when it would happen and it finally happened last night. Vescovi, who I think will be great, has a very strong tendency to dribble to his left once he crosses half court. Arkansas played this perfectly and forced Vescovi right all night long. Threw everything off on the offensive end.

If anyone remembers, JP Prince was a top 5 PG coming out of high school. He never played pg because he literally could not dribble to the right.
