VERY well coached game

Respectfully disagree.....

Still MANY poor play calls that defy any reasoning....
Defensively--JANCEK and MARTINEZ do need to go....those two UGA rejects--esp. Jancek....ALMOST allowed UGA to march 99 yds to tie the game....

Although we did roll the dice and throw some balls down the middle and went for it on two 4th down calls--when BEHIND by 21....with nothing to lose....

We completely went vaginal when it was 4th and 1/2 yd on our last drive with a 240lb BEAST of a RB.....it's that kind of CRAP that convinces me that these guys are still coaching scared instead of confident....And--offensively--just TOO MANY passes into the short side of the field--and ONE almost got HURD's knees destroyed....

Just think a minute--if 81 catches that sure TD--would you still have made your post?

Ultimately--sitting at 3-3 when we honestly should be 6-0 is HARDLY REASON to compliment our coaching staff...

either way--GLAD the PLAYERS played their hearts out and WILLED themselves to win this game...GO VOLS! :salute:
Our 240 pound beast was stopped for a loss on multiple occasions tonight, you act as iF there is no chance we get stuffed. As for your comments on complimenting the staff, the OP was referring to this game, so the previous losses have no relevance in regards to this thread.

No doubt, that was a terrible decision to punt and it almost cost us even with the punt having the best possible result. But the positives from our coaching in the first 58 minutes outweigh the negatives from the final two.

Are you kidding me? I was pissed when they came out acting like they were going for it. The punt was 100% the right call. That's why you're not a coach.

You have got to be kidding!!!! You punt in that situation every time. However, I believe they should have at least a sprint out type pass on 3rd down and get the first down. If they do the game is over then. Worked out though.
Did not like three strait QB keepers!
Playing it to safe instead of doing what we needed to do to pick up a first down !

Uhhh...you saw the wide open WR drop the ball, right?

Your point? I also saw the defense do a good job protecting the sidelines and defend the pass very well on the last play of the game. After so many bad luck bounces I've seen over the years I will take a guy dropping a pass and not complain.

Offseasons are hard lol. And I couldn't bear to read people turning on us after all the progress we've made. I'll be back in the gaming forum when fallout 4 comes out and you can look for me in the grizz thread :)

Hey count, where is your whining a** now?

Yeah thats rich. The coaching staff has deserved all the criticism as of late. I have been as negative as anyone on here. Its easy to come on here after a great win and say what you are saying. I am very happy to be wrong about this game. The Vols came out and played fired up. I love it. But posting things like this just makes you look childish.

I guess you've missed all the games where Jones did punt and we lost. Our defense NEVER comes through with the game on the line.

You play the odds and you definitely make the smart play and punt.... He has made some bonehead decisions that cost us games but I didn't disagree with anything he did in this game.

I had a huge problem with that as well. I was thinking a couple of first downs and this game is over. But I knew what was going to happen. I looked at my buddy and said watch three straight runs. Boom.

It was the best coached game of the year, no doubt. I liked how we finly let Dobbs throw it vertically a bit. A couple of 7 yard hitch routes and also the 15 yard passes over the middle were good. Preston Williams continues to impress me every week. I wanted them to hand it off to Herd on the 3rd down play at the end of the game, and I also wanted them to run a QB sneak in the first quarter at the goal line. Other than that, I was very pleased with the coaching all game. We dominated UGA's defense all day, and the defensive play calls on UGA's last drive were also very good, I felt. They kept the clock running and covered the deep ball well.

I didn't in that situation......if you throw you risk a turnover or an incompletion which would have given Georgia an extra 30 seconds or so and we still almost got the first down.

You have to keep the clock running there. As well as Dobbs played, I don't know that you can risk stopping the clock with an incompletion given his inconsistency throwing the ball.
