Wow we beat out powerhouses Kentucky, Indiana and USF to get this guy meanwhile Georgia has the number 1 ranked recruiting class so far for 2022.
There's nothing much that can be immediately be done to change the current state of affairs.Maybe so but I feel like we should never, ever be compared to those programs in anything football related. Guess I need to get with the times...ugh!
Right? We all know recruiting is important, but let’s give JH the benefit of the doubt here. Unknown punishments are probably killing us, we also have sucked bad for the past decade. If the play on the field improves, recruits will come.
IMHO, the biggest factor is the extended dead period combined with the timing and circumstances of his hire. Recruiting requires relationships and you just can't do that with Zoom. It would have been bad enough without the extended dead period but that's been a killer. We all know recruiting is important, but let’s give JH the benefit of the doubt here. except:
1) Learn the new offense and defense in and out during the off-season.
2) Perform on the field with the talent available.
Season doesnt start until September 2021. Its April 2021
WHY go months and months complaining about the current state of affairs when literally nothing can change until games are won??
Think about this. We could have the top 25 kids (all 5 stars) overall committed to us right now. Could any of them help us win in 2021???????
No.
You are right. Development is nice and all but you cant win the Kentucky Derby with a mule. I hope we miracle ourselves above expectations but i think expecting recruiting to be on par with the Dooley yesrs is what we have coming for a while. Right nownit isnt Heup's fault. We just have to slightly exceed expectstions every year and creep back up. Sad reality is we are irrelevant to most of the big name kids these days. Our best hope for the next 5 years is thst Heup can coach out of his mind. Thats how we get back to top 5 classes.Wow we beat out powerhouses Kentucky, Indiana and USF to get this guy meanwhile Georgia has the number 1 ranked recruiting class so far for 2022.
This and also.. Give the kid a chance also.. All the negatively comes based on looking at a subjective ranking. Does anyone know if he camped, or has he been evaluated lately related to covid? Hell did he play a full season last year? If CRG likes the kid I'm good with it. If I magically bumped that ranking up just a tad.. All of a sudden he is ready for the NFL combine to some that never even watched the kid play a snap.. That is what gets old around here.We all know recruiting is important, but let’s give JH the benefit of the doubt here. Winning begins as a state of mind. Willingness to accept a 30% failure rate does not lead to achieving a less than 10% failure rate.
Exactly. If they like him, we fans have no right to complain. But if 3 years from now the play hasn’t improved and we’re still recruiting the same, then I can understand it.This and also.. True in the larger sense but there's also the concept of a "J" curve for improvement. Most improvement starts by tearing up what is there... which actually causes you to lose some ground to start. Unfortunately at a high level program you have to get through that dip pretty quick if you want to survive.Winning begins as a state of mind. I like this kid and do not see why he isn't rated higher. I have more doubts about the LB commit. This and also.. Give the kid a chance also.. This is my biggest concern about Heupel and his coaching staff. They're still recruiting the same players they were recruiting to come to UCF. That's not going to play out well.Wow we beat out powerhouses Kentucky, Indiana and USF to get this guy meanwhile Georgia has the number 1 ranked recruiting class so far for 2022.
