Vast Improvement over last week

Correct. I will always support my Vols but that doesn't mean we keep trying to put lipstick on this pig. I want Pruitt to succeed but nothing he has shown me thus far gives me any hope he will

He made at least two blunders in this game. Going for two after each TD.

On the first, it was early in the 3rd Quarter. You should very rarely go for two until you are in the 4th Quarter.

On the second, you kick the point to make it an 11-point game. You don’t go for two until you have to.

Then I have to really wonder if you "get" football. Seriously. Not trying to be snarky.

First half was pure Pop Warner garbage. Second half showed glimmers of light.
First half was meh indeed but to be fair that fumble straight into their FB's hands... into a 40 yard touchdown was absolutely the most stupid lucky thing I've seen in awhile.

At least THIS coach didn't leave it up to some dang "chart". He went with his instinctive feel for the momentum of the game at that particular moment It turned out the wrong call this time but I like the moxie

Oh, I think we get it. To win, you have to score more points than your opponent. This team shows no ability to even come close to doing that.

Maybe you are the one who doesn’t “get” it.

You call it moxie. I call it a lack of understanding of basic coaching strategies.

This would be prominent in Coaching For Dummies.

The offense had what?.... two first downs? Did you realize this? Did you notice what started happening when Helton actually started calling pass plays of over 5 yards? Helton deserves all the criticism he's getting.....

No real way to tell how we performed because UGA was just playing with us. They showed that on their last real drive. They needed it and they got up enough to drive it into the end zone. Then we fumble and get another tacked on. But, hey..in Vegas we won!

Oh they were not toying with us. The defense was just worn down. And yes, we won in Vegas. Take some solace and smile when you consider that some poor delusional grown man who barks at other grown men probably lost a cool couple of thousand $$$ today and will have to give up that shiny new F-150 that has the off-road package that will never get used.

Butch, is that you? We couldn't find a copy of your chart. Can you mail us one?

For a minute, I though uga was gonna have bragging rights of 2 years in a row shutout. Not the case. We competed and had it close until mid way thru the 4th

If we had kept it at 24-12, I would have felt better about it.

But, once we got in the game, they just jammed it down our throat with little resistance.

Defense showed improvement this week. They were still bringing it late in the game. Wish I could say the same for the O. They can't get first downs, can't convert 3rd and 1s, they're leaving the D on the field too long, and they're turning the ball over literally and figuratively. If the O can show some strides, they may well steal an SEC game or 2. Maybe, but have to see it to believe it.

Through the first half of GA. Yes, I know we are down #17 but I, for one am MUCH happier with the play so far than last week. Our guys are still making a bunch of unforced errors for missed formation but at least I can see some FIGHT in guys.

I LOVE the pressure we are bringing on the QB and it is paying off with a number of plays where he was thinking about getting hit instead of getting rid of the ball.
I love the fact that we have only 1 sack so far and our o-line is protecting JG much better.
We are actually holding on to the ball this week.
We are beginning to HIT them - not as often as I would like and we are still learning to wrap up with whatever new contact rules are in place - but we are beginning to hit and tackle a bit more than before. They no longer run through us like swiss cheese.
We are getting beat by better players but unlike in the last few games, it feels like our team is at least on the field and fighting for a win.

For those of you sourpusses hyperventilating because we are losing, GA comes into this game (and will likely leave it) as ranked #2. What the hell did you expect by a team that won ZERO SEC games last year? Being honest, I knew we were going to lose this but I just wanted to see some improvement to give me hope for when we get to teams we SHOULD beat.

Now that JG has a pocket for a bit, I would like to see some improvement there. I see people griping about Helton's play calling, and you may be right, but I am guessing this last week's focus was on protecting the QB and giving him time. That is happening. Hopefully, they will actually get to practice some other plays going forward. I wouldnt expect much tho. Helton is likely going to just try to get them to execute vanilla stuff reliably and then use the few twists they have on later teams that we have a shot with, KY MS, SC, etc.

Dont know how the rest of the game goes but I am really glad to see that GA didnt blow our doors off in the first QTR. I still expect them to score 35-10 by the end.

Yet they still lost by 4 TDs. Dang.

Defense got run over in last 10 minutes and gave up 38. I don’t know how you can call that improvement.

You can complain about a lot in this game, but not the D. They wore down sure, but showed a lot of heart and fire. Offense didn’t help the case much. Georgia’s last two touchdowns (and first fluke td) were pretty unimpressive. Swings. what looks on the scoreboard to be +7 for Georgia actually is +10 or 14 bc our O lost momentum. It was really a Two score type of game.
