Vandy becoming the real UT

We are very fortunate Memphis has never been able to sneak their way into a P5. If they had the money to compete, with their easier admissions and recruiting base, they would be a pain in our backside. People in West TN are closer to Panama City Beach than they are to Knoxville. But fortunately, the Tigers have never given them a consistent winner to support.

The answer to the OP is simply, no.

If high school stars were interested in playing for Vanderbilt, their stadium would be filled with high school kids every time they play. I was at every Candy home game this year except one and I can assure you, they couldn't GIVE tickets away. Yeah, there might be an MBA kid or two who wants to play at Candy because Daddy went there, but there's little indication of a massive switch from Middle Tennessee kids dreaming about playing for the Vols to dreaming about playing for the Commodores.

Unless there is a Panama City Beach that is nowhere close to an actual beach, Knoxville is closer.

Is there a chance that if things do not change in the next few years, that Vandy becomes the new UT and the Vols are left by the side of the road?

AhahahahahaaHAAAAAAAA I am laughing so hard right now. Oh man. Oh. PFFFEW! Thanks. I needed that. That was a good one.

With Vandy owning us the last few years, the new generation only knowing a UT team that loses to Vandy, and Vandy being in the heart of Nashville where almost everyone moving in is from another part of the country and holding no emotional ties to the past or clinging onto stories of the good old days......

Is there a chance that if things do not change in the next few years, that Vandy becomes the new UT and the Vols are left by the side of the road?

Lol... no. It will never be the same brand as us. Unless you are talking about 4 year olds then everyone right now knows we own Vandy.

Um TN isn’t the flagship school now. Vandy is much more prestigious than UT. No one tried to get into UT and settles for Vandy. They try to get into Harvard and settle for Vandy.
Apples and oranges bro. Public versus Private. Vandy has always been more prestigious than UT.

Soooo... let’s see if I have this right.
Vandy has a crappy little “high school” stadium, lousy recruiting, no major financial commitment to Football, poor attendance at their games, and yet with all those issues going against them, they currently OWN the Big Orange.
We better hope to God they don’t wake up and to take football seriously.

At least they think they are. Mny of my older relatives were raised in Middle Tennessee and they went to Vandy and remain Vandy fans. I have a sof spot for Vandy in my heart, bur the six generations of my family who have attended Tennessee, far override my soft spot for Vandy. I do occasionally talk to the Vandy side, but they still don't like to talk about football. They know what the future hols.

Thats gonna happen about the same time as when monkeys fly out of my butt. Vandy has been, and will ALWAYS be the Vols little sister.

Excuse me? By definition, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville is the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee system, with ten undergraduate colleges and eleven graduate colleges. Vanderbilt, on the other hand, is a private school with a completely different mission statement. Unlike the University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt does not set as a goal of theirs to deliver education, discovery, outreach and public service contributions to the economic, social and environmental well-being of all Tennesseans. What you just said is not only wrong, but you are literally arguing with a definition... and with mission statements.

For all under 30....Tenn. and Candy have played 112 times and Tenn. has won 75 of them and tied 3. Tenn. longest win streak 22,
Candy 3. Tenn. Has won 16 Sec championships, Candy 0. Tenn. Has won 6 National championships, Candy 0.
Candy has a long way to before they become Tennessee!

Uh, just look at their AD. And their stadium. And their fund raising.

No. Believe it or not what goes into million dollar ADs is bigger than 2 or 3 games on a football field.

Vandy dominates UT about every 80 years or so. So after this run we will all be long gone before they start another.

This is bad to say. But the Vandy AD has hired better coaches there then the Tennessee hired at UT. Hamilton and Hart hired Kiffin, (which it would of been a good hire had USC job not come open) Dooley and Butch Jones. Vandy hire Franklin, and Mason.
