USC Grad Transfer WR Velus Jones Jr a Vol

A bunch of the receivers and a few of the special teams guys got together at a secret meeting over lunch with Jones at Wendy’s on Lovell Rd and convinced him to come. This was actually a done deal the day after our bowl game last week where the players that attended the lunch meeting above flew back to Knox on a red eye and got Jones to buy in. That’s what I was hearing with my updates.

P.S. You deserve that. 😎

Kick Returner specialist. Adds Depth to WR room. But let's hope that he doesn't have to return to many because our D is strangling the O. "In CHRIST Alone"

In the SEC you can sign 28 players between December and May. If you go over 25 you have to have signed between 1 and 3 fewer than 25 the prior year and the extras must enroll early. Say we signed 23 last year, we can sign 27 this year as long as two enroll early.

Consider USC having a top 5 recruiting class for the last 20 years. Is it possible they are loaded at WR?

Maybe, that was a thought I considered. I also thought our recruiting has been pretty good to. Colleges recruiting in the top 15 consistently, which we have will have comparable players on average.

But they have good recruiting classes I agree.

Boy that phrase gets tossed around a lot here.

It amazes me how the orange kool aid guzzlers respond if anyone has a thought that may question our all powerful perfect staff.

If you actually paid attention to my response that you quoted I was agreeing with the guy that responded to me. I said that Pruitt must feel this guy is a must have and so hey I'm with the coach. He has the task of winning the games.

Well USC is a little more loaded at the position then we are so there is an opportunity. If Jennings and Callaway were returning we wouldnt even be on his radar

Yeah, another poster mentioned the same thing. I hope this guy is the real deal.

A bit off topic...but I constantly see posts saying its been over a decade of crap football but in among that time we've won 4 bowl games....and one year after beating Fla and Georgia consecutive weeks we were ranked top 10 and ended season destroying our bowl opponent. I'm not trying to put lipstick on a pig...just sayin.

Might get a look at the 3 am lounge act on a cruise ship.

You're better than that, JV.

Think "High-Velusity Missile"

Ok, so is this an indication were using a scholarship on Velus because Coach Pruitt is not fully happy with the 2020 vols reciever room ?

I mean my train of thought is if he didnt start at USC, then what makes him worthy of a one and done scholarship instead of a high school senior that will probably be in the program for multiple years ?
We need speed and this guy has it ... take off the top , open up the running game. Gray needs just a little room and he gone. Lots of speed in Fr class but most Fr WRs not ready to play right away

I figured you would have choked on the all the koolaid already.

Nah, your not a sunshine pumper. Your just the local smart ass that wants to argue about everything no matter what. You remind me of my boss, everything has to be a debate. He stops off at car dealerships just to haggle not even wanting to buy.

You do you, your good at it.
