Update on Henry T

Is there a timeline on how long you can stay in the portal? You would think that there would be a timeline for them to make a choice. I understand the issue on Henry making a choice on what he is going to do going forward. Seems to me like he probably came back to see what the staff was really like. Is it something that he feels is going to benefit him. Sucks because you have players that stayed for the long haul and didn't put themselves first. Kind of shows me what I need to see honestly.

This makes sense. Instilling a sense of urgency to the decision without necessarily indulging the desire of some college athletes to gain more limelight and followers off the field could be a good thing. Sort of a "sh*t or get off the toilet" clause.

Henry signed with Coach Pruitt and his staff. He doesn't owe this new staff anything, so if he is here to check them out to make sure he'd be a good fit for him, that's a good sign.

It's no different than if your current boss gets fired and they replace him with a new one. If they aren't a good fit for your future, you're going to look for another job.

Some of ya'll really need to learn some perspective in life.

He also may have been one of Tennessee's paid recruits who will cause UT to be nailed by the NCAA

And you can't fault that kid for trying to get every single penny he can get when other schools are out there paying as well. That ain't on Henry.

That's on Pruitt and his dipsh*ts for doing it wrong.

You think players weren't getting paid when Fulmer was the coach? LOL.

Wrong is wrong. Right is right. Pruitt didn't "do it wrong"... he did wrong. He violated the rules and paid players. If others are doing wrong then turn them in. The problem isn't that people are getting caught cheating... the problem is that programs are cheating and folks like you are excusing them.

I agree to an extent, but I can make sign a non-compete if that means him not going to Bama. I don’t mind him exploring other options in the market as long he doesn’t explore those options who are our main competition. If he does then he should pay a penalty, like say sitting out a year. Something tells me that doesn’t jive with Henry’s pop.

Does it say "Coach Pruitt" on the side of the helmet?

Then why keep stringing Heupel and the rest of the team along? You keep deflecting blame from Henry and it’s BS. The guy can make his own decisions. It’s not Pruitts fault Henry is acting this way.

If he wants to leave for greener pastures then that’s fine. Go. But don’t treat the university that have you a scholarship like the backup plan on prom night. Henry needs to act like an adult and make a decision.

Agreed! I love Henry T but you are spot on.
GBO!!

Is it fair if he participates in spring but then decides to leave?

Agree, I am tired of the excuse that everyone else does it. College athletics needs to be cleaned up.

This is why I don’t understand what’s so hard about making the transfer rule.

-You can play immediately, unless the team you are transferring to plays against the team you are transferring from the next year in the regular season. Then you have to sit a year.

^ problem solved.

Or just sit for that game

If he's back for his teammates, he's ready to give his all. Beyond that he's not playing for our opponents, which is better for us.
I’m not so sure about that. I believe Heupel would expose his lack of talent in pass coverage. We might succeed more playing against him than have him playing for us.

I’ve paid this about 0 attention since Pruitt was fired. Frankly, we’re going to suck anyway so it doesn’t feel that important. Can someone fill me in on the latest?

He’s actually pretty freaking good. Probably the best player on the team.
After Henry T’s freshman season I said on more than one occasion that the way he played reminded me of Luke Kuechley. He showed that much to me that early. Obviously last season he didn’t show out the same way . We can all speculate as to why, my theory is that Nieds was coaching the ILB’s and Henry T wasn’t used to his body weight . Once Henry T starts getting real coaching again and I also get my wish, which is a simplified system that allows our guys to play fast then I expect to see the guy we saw his freshman season.

He’s a difference maker and I hope he comes back fully invested to lead the D. Personally, I think he can build on his draft stock just by being back and showing leadership after all the adversity within our program, not just by his playing performance.
He is overrated. He looked good playing beside Bituli as a freshman. He will make a highlight play once or twice a game but make 20 bad plays during the same game.

His “lack” of talent only showed up last year. In 2019 he was a beast. I believe he would tribe with this new staff.

Everyone is cheating man. Alabama is better at keeping it hush hush than anyone, which sickens me.
