The Far-Right International Russian Conservative Forum to Take Place in Russia | The Interpreter
It's kind of difficult for me to grasp as an American since a) fascism still means "fascism" in this country; and, b) America's experience with the Nazis was certainly not that of Russia's, but you must be right: that really is just some indiscriminate term for whoever is perceived to be an enemy of the Russian state. The fascists fascist in Russia make no qualms about hiding the fact (and Russians don't seem to care), yet they're not "fascists."
Europes image has suffered dramatically and also in terms of foreign policy, we dont seem to be taken entirely seriously.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responded to new U.S. sanctions against his government by promoting a general accused of repressing protesters to head the ministry responsible for national security.
Major General Gustavo Gonzalez Lopez is Venezuelas new interior minister, Maduro announced in a televised address late Monday. In his previous job as the head of the national intelligence police, he had a prominent role in repressive actions against civilians during anti-government protests last year, the White Houses office of the press secretary said.
And we use Twitter and Instagram...When most countries release a statement on their foreign policy changes, etc. they do so with an official press release. Russia just uses their actual government controlled media, Sputnik, to release the statement. They seem to use RT as well. "Only Stream Media" in Russia is government owned and sourced.
