Hey, MRE's and bandages are all about regime change.

yeah they are military equipment. if we can overthrow Ukraine's government with a bag full of cookies, we should be able to rule the world with 1000 MRE's and a few miles of bandages. man the US is awesome.

can we move some of our LGBT community into Moscow, and then invade on the pretext of protecting the rights of ethnic Americans?

You know, the more I think about it, the more I believe the biggest beneficiary of NATO's move eastward was and is Vladimir Putin.

He's going to milk the "Western threat" for all it is worth with Russians.

It has only helped to strengthen his power and idiotic political aims.

Joke's on us, I guess.

Twitter's lighting up like Christmas over Russian military buildup near Belgorod. Geolocated pictures and VKontakte postings have been busy of late.

It's kind of difficult for me to grasp as an American since a) fascism still means "fascism" in this country; and, b) America's experience with the Nazis was certainly not that of Russia's, but you must be right: that really is just some indiscriminate term for whoever is perceived to be an enemy of the Russian state. The fascists fascist in Russia make no qualms about hiding the fact (and Russians don't seem to care), yet they're not "fascists."

Fascist in Russia truly means anyone who is against them. If Mother Theresa spoke about the ills in Russian society she'd be labeled a fascist. Meanwhile the ones who admire fascism are called patriotic.

Not trying to be derogatory, but I didn't realize until some chance Internet encounter today that the term "slave" is derived from "Slav" due to how many of them were made "slaves" (basically just a reference to Slavs) by Western Europeans throughout the late ancient world and Middle Ages.

slave (n.) Look up slave at Dictionary.com
late 13c., "person who is the chattel or property of another," from Old French esclave (13c.), from Medieval Latin Sclavus "slave" (source also of Italian schiavo, French esclave, Spanish esclavo), originally "Slav" (see Slav); so used in this secondary sense because of the many Slavs sold into slavery by conquering peoples.

This sense development arose in the consequence of the wars waged by Otto the Great and his successors against the Slavs, a great number of whom they took captive and sold into slavery. [Klein]

EU army would show Russia we’re serious: Jean-Claude Juncker

“Europe’s image has suffered dramatically and also in terms of foreign policy, we don’t seem to be taken entirely seriously.”

It's bad enough you have Greece in NATO. The more nations you have in a group like this the more likely you are to have spies and saboteurs. Who knows what Greece has already handed over. They would be better off having smaller blocs of a security pact with perhaps a larger 'sponsor' like UK, France, Germany, or US. Still, at the end of the day you won't see Belgium signing up to go to war if one of the Baltic states is invaded. Those off in the distance are less likely and motivated in doing anything.

I nominate the EU army to clear ISIL out of the Middle East.

I bet this will end well. If not, it's America's fault:

Venezuelan spy chief banned by Obama named as interior minister - Americas - Stripes

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responded to new U.S. sanctions against his government by promoting a general accused of repressing protesters to head the ministry responsible for national security.

Major General Gustavo Gonzalez Lopez is Venezuela’s new interior minister, Maduro announced in a televised address late Monday. In his previous job as the head of the national intelligence police, he had a “prominent role” in repressive actions against civilians during anti-government protests last year, the White House’s office of the press secretary said.

what was this guy trying to say? he keeps saying "respect" but never expands on what that means in regards to the US and Russia. He makes comparisons to Italy and Germany, but again never explains the differences, as he sees them. and he seems to completely avoid the fact that we did reach out to Russia with some limited success in 1991.

When most countries release a statement on their foreign policy changes, etc. they do so with an official press release. Russia just uses their actual government controlled media, Sputnik, to release the statement. They seem to use RT as well. "Only Stream Media" in Russia is government owned and sourced.
