Ukraine Protests

Even if that is true, how have we done in all of the ground based wars we've been in since Korea?

We're having to go back in Iraq for a 3rd time in 25 years.

I wonder how we would do in a ground based war in the Russian Motherland in the winter? Oh wait, we've just seen how that worked out...

taking land, no problem. defeating the enemy that wants to stand up and fight no problem. guys want to blend in with the populace and bomb haphazardly, not caring if 10 civilians are killed (their own people) if 1 US serviceman is wounded.

You two need to stop changing the argument. in a straight up fight (no guerrilla/insurgency tactics) the US could take anyone. No army has yet to demonstrate they can handle guerrilla fighting when they care about civilian casualties.

to the bolded???????

but to your question we stand as good of a chance as anyone (not that good). maybe that is what global warming is all about. use General Motors and Ford to defeat General Winter. cunning and it has taken years and can't be proved and the US is to blame. You should love that conspiracy.

See,, that is where you are mistaken. I'm not even pro-Russian. But just because I come on here and don't baptize myself in the pro-Murica/apple pie and baseball by-God mantra, you all automatically characterize it as such. I'm for freedom and for us getting out of these conflicts and foreign entanglements for the sole purpose of saving the USD and enriching the banking cartel. Sadly, this is how far America has fallen, when you have the Russians and Chinese talking about expanding markets and trade and the US talking expanding war and arms trades.

the ruskies can nuke that little part of american culture and i would be fine with it.

The battles or the war?

Number of US dead: 68,000

Number of NVA/VC dead: estimated at 1,000,000 plus.

It's impossible to fight a war when the politicians won't let you win.

yeah when the terms of the battle (strategy) is set by Washington in the Capitol you are doomed.

for me, nukes subs aren't included, because once again no one wins a nuclear war. and i was talking a straight up fight, not we lurk our subs in the artic and turn russia into a radioactive waste land. while russia creates a real life version of the game Fallout.

Wait, you realize that they are called nuclear subs because that is how they are powered, not because of the arms they may carry, right?

And you realise that 1 us sub with a couple dozen tridents could kill just about every human in europe between initial blast and secondary fallout deaths? Just 1. You can bet your butt we have several lurking over there near your precious Russia at all times. Thats why Putin is only talk. Same with every other dicktater on this planet. When push comes to shove we dont even need ICBMs to kill every single human we deem necessary. our subs could do it alone in the ev3nt that the entire continental US was a wasteland from a preemptive strike by our enemies. I would wager that we have enough tactical nukes on any of our aircraft carriers to lay waste to any single country on the globe. What we now call tactical nukes..armed easily on a fighter like an f14...are in reality much much stronger than either "fat man" or "little boy" which crippled japan. Its mind blowing to think how many megatons of destructive power we can strap on to a single fighter..from our fleet of aircraft carriers which is unrivaled on this globe.

Our carrier battle groups allow us to project our military might to every shadowed corner of this planet.Every single inch. When the time ever comes that the liberal pansies can no longer tie our hands because we have a clear immediate threat : everyone who dares oppose us will die. This is really not even debatable by a logical mind. The only real question in a ww3 scenario is how much collateral damage we would take back home. Our effectiveness at killing our enemies need not be questioned. Fortunately dicktaters like your boy Putin understand this firmly and just refuse to publicly acknowledge their fears.

For a Jew hater and anti-American like yourself, I've done well.

You honor me. You and Ras both. Anytime I can root out hate-addicts like yourselves, I've done a good job.

Cowards, the lot of you.

if you like i can just start quoting you all the time. of course i have a feeling I might end up in ignore land too, if i am not there already.

Wait, you realize that they are called nuclear subs because that is how they are powered, not because of the arms they may carry, right?

most nuke subs are quite capable of carrying nukes (ours are at least). and still the point was a stand up fight. (and i will still posit we would be able to hunt down their subs after their first strike)

The European ties Russia is binding closer

good stuff in here. And still Ras and Pacer have no idea why people don't trust Russia

“The Baltic states have, since regaining independence always considered Russia to be the major existential threat to their independence,” Hurt says. “This is the logic result of our historic experience. Thus, our armed forces have had to assume that the most likely enemy they will have to face is Russia and its armed forces.”

the last three paragraphs are particularly telling.

Yeah, you see now why the wanted to join the EU and NATO so badly. If I were in the Baltic's right now I'd be terrified.

Especially Latvia and Estonia. Almost 27% of Latvia and 25% of Estonia are Russian. By comparison Lithuania only has a Russian population of 5.8%

Oh, i have known exactly why the want to be part of NATO, and its not for the cool letterhead. its just nice to hear it from the horse's mouth.

question for Ras and Pacer and Red as well. if the baltics get some 'independence' movements happening along their Russian border would that change your mind about what is going on in Ukraine?

CNN just did a segment on anti-American sentiment in Russia. The reporter was following the so-called "anti-Maidan" protest from this weekend.

These people actually think America wants to invade Russia and take at least half of its land from them.

When the segment ended, it cut back to Wolf in the studio, and he was wide-eyed in stark amazement. I've never seen him look like that. It was kind of like, "WTF?"

If all we wanted was more Artic, tundra, and oil, we would have taken Canada years ago. Canada has a lot more oil than Russia anyhow.
