Yeah, they're asking for it if they overplay their hand. But do we really have a base in Somalia?

Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, and Tajikistan. Also have presences in the unrecognized states of; Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Transnistria.

Hardly game for a US Air Force or Navy. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the US have an air base in Kyrgyzstan as well? That's got to be awkward as hell. I think Russia, Kazahkstan, and China all want it gone, but it still remains. Something about poor dirt countries and money, I guess.

Not sure about Latvia but they have forces in Kaliningrad.

Well, that's to be expected. Kaliningrad is a part of Russia. And as I understand, even more a part of Russia than Puerto Rico or Guam is to us. Could be wrong though.

What if Ukraine just cut off power and utilities to Crimea? That sure would make it awful hard for the Russians to "conduct business".

Then Russia would probably roll across the border and kick their asses. But then there's those darn 3rd wave sanctions. And while the ole' Ruskies laughed at the first wave, they sure as **** haven't been laughing at the second wave. But a third wave?

All of this is simply to say that I don't have a freaking clue.

I'd be more inclined to use that as a negotiating chip, rather than provoking the Bear. Assuming they ever start negotiating.

They do that and they instantly give Putin all the justification he needs to invade the mainland.

Meanwhile, over there

Man, Jews served as financial arbiters/managers back in the Middle Ages (due to the Catholic Church's moral qualms, yet it still wanted all its money), and we as humans have never let them live it down. Amazing how something so stupid from the Middle Ages still permeates popular ideologies throughout Europe and North America.

There's already been one such unit outside a Ukrainian military base somewhere in the east. They've not been letting anyone out or in the last week or two. Of course the Ukrainians could just run them over with tanks, but it's not that simple as you well know. Moscow is just looking for the one little provocation. And most likely it will come at some point and will be completely Moscow's own doing. I'm sure they'll find some obscure fascists and/or ultra-nationalists to blame it on though.
