Freaking bicyclists.....

Walkers/Runners are the worst IMO. They think they fricking own the road. One night I was coming home from work and some dude was jogging on the side of the road on a poorly lit road and if I hadn't swerved I would have hit him.

You know who else hates bicyclists?

Bigger picture what's happening in Kyiv is more significant to the future of Ukraine than what's happening along the ceasefire line.

News Analysis: Ukraine Risks 'Feudalization' As Conflict With Oligarchs Boils Over

Moscow has been pushing for "federalization" in Ukraine -- a weaker central government and broad autonomy for the regions, especially the ones with large ethnic-Russian and Russian-speaking populations. The current struggle among the oligarchs and between the oligarchs and the government, Portnikov says, could result in something even worse.

"Instead of the federalization that we have all been so afraid of, we are getting the feudalization of Ukraine," he says.
. . .
"The hryvna is being destroyed," he adds. "I have already said -- Putin can relax because our government and our oligarchs will do everything for him."

Uh oh.

Chechnya threatens to arm Mexico in response to US Congress call for Ukraine lethal aid

If the US were to supply "lethal military assistance" to Ukraine, the semi-autonomous region in southern Russia would send "the most modern weapons to Mexico" to prompt the resumption of negotiations on "US-annexed territories that now house […] California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and a part of Wyoming," reports the Moscow Times, citing a statement released by the speaker of the Chechen Parliament.

wait are there active resistance fighters in those states? or any major push for that stuff?

The occasional misguided whiny butt Mexican nationalist but nothing serious.

If they want to live in a nation that's poor as hell, they can just go live in Mexico.

the good ole boy turn out would be impressive. there would be almost no need for the US military to do anything except pick out targets. and i really don't think Mexico wants a proxy war with the US.

Mexico has a few Russian helicopters and RPGs from Russian stock. Maybe we should put our nuclear forces on alert and say that was a provocation. Or Russia renegotiating bases in Cuba as well. Time to move DEFCON up a notch.

Apparently at the FSB meeting, Putin and others are making claims the US is actively engaging in efforts to work with opposition groups to destabilize Russia in the next few elections. What a convenient excuse to discredit his opposition and label them traitors. He's pushing to crack down on NGO's and any other foreign entities as spies. Slowly slipping away. Opposition leaders killed, jailed, run out of the country, and now connected to the US to be discredited. One party. One leader.
