Seems more like a natural DB to me. He seems to enjoy defending more than receiving. Either way, props to this kid. Reminds me of a young Rod Wilks in HS.

I don't know if you've paid attention to the last DECADE but Tennessee football has been a joke while those 3 other programs have been perennial contenders.

To most of the kids coming up now, we're on the same level as Kentucky and Vanderbilt not UGA or LSU. So no we can't recruit like those powers when we don't have early playing time to offer. We have to prove to these recruits that when given top 5 talent we can be a top 5 team.

That's why this season is so important. If Butch can win big it can propel is back into that elite group.

Can't bash D4H on this post, this is one of his HR posts. He is absolutely right with what he said. When Jones came in he was doing some different things on the recruiting trail, social media etc. Now other coaches have basically done the same things with programs that have been more successful over the last 10 yrs or so. Now it is time to put up or shut up. If we can win 10+ games this year,look out, our recruiting will take off for 2017, if not, then it may be a cold winter.

Just trying to be a realist, not a Negavol. Personally, I think we get to the 10 win plateau.

I can't wait to see this guy play. I think he may end up being electric like Cordarrelle Patterson, but probably a better route runner. I know he's starting out as a WR, but I'll be interested to see what position he finishes his Vol career at..

Byrds soul purpose is to match up with Mecole. If he takes him out of the game on defense or makes Mecole cover him all game to free up other guys, he's done his job. Any thing else he gives the team is a bonus.
