Tyler Byrd already turning heads

People keep pointing that out, but isn't it just mid July for the likes of UGA, Bama and LSU too. That argument does not cut ice with me anymore. Sorry:thud:

LOL. We're not UGA, LSU, or Bama.

I don't know if you've paid attention to the last DECADE but Tennessee football has been a joke while those 3 other programs have been perennial contenders.

To most of the kids coming up now, we're on the same level as Kentucky and Vanderbilt not UGA or LSU. So no we can't recruit like those powers when we don't have early playing time to offer. We have to prove to these recruits that when given top 5 talent we can be a top 5 team.

That's why this season is so important. If Butch can win big it can propel is back into that elite group.

I think it's pretty cool that you were paying attention when you weren't a fan.

I'm starting an online petition to ban D4H from VolNation for the duration of the 2016-17 season

I'm starting a petition to ban everyone who quotes D4H or creates posts to simply grip again and again and again about the same poster's opinion.

D4H has clearly shown his strips on this forum...use the ignore button and quit complaining about him! :lolabove:

For once, I'd just like to see one of these rating services start explaining why a particular recruit is a certain star rating. Even better, they could explain what Byrd would have had to have done to have been a 5*.

Sign with a different school! Sad but true! :banghead2:

I'm starting a petition to ban everyone from VN for the 2016-17 season solely because everyone will probably just find something to complain about anyway even if we're winning.

IMO, I think Malone will have a breakout year if (stress the if) the passing game unfolds like it should. He and Dobbs have been working together for three years now and you could see a few moments last season of the bond that's been built between the two.

Not to say PWill, Smith, Byrd and others can't or won't contribute. But I think Malone will become "that guy" and become a serious weapon at WR.
I really hope your right GV

Idk what I hate more: "Growing up before our own eyes" or "turning heads".

To keep people from bashing me, I think we have a good chance that we will have a couple of effective, productive WRs. All we need is 2 guys to step up and they will be an amazing offense.

I would say 2 productive WR's is right as long as Ethan Wolf & Croom also chip in on the passing game too. I would still like to have 3 or 4 WR's to chip in with the 1st two WR's putting up big numbers.

I really hope Byrd ends up back at DB. I think he's a first round pick there one day. Just a special talent.

He could play DB & play it really well but he's better off at WR as a playmaker because that's what he truly is. You just wait til you see him on the field. I've only seen him on video but watched tons of it for sure. He's amazing to watch!

No argument about the type of talent or athlete he is. But we don't use our WR's enough, especially with all the rotating to make the type of difference he could make in our secondary. I'd rather him play 50 snaps a game in the secondary as opposed to 20-25 at WR.

Is Jennings able to get big enough to be a LB? We're looking good in the secondary, can always use another LB.

Doubt so! Jennings isn't very big/heavy. Would take a lot of weight gaining by him to get big enough to play LB. I said he would make such a great safety. He lowers the absolute boom on hits during special teams play.

I just don't think he's got good enough skills to be a real productive WR. That's why I've already predicted that Tyler Byrd will pass him on the depth chart by mid-season or before at WR.
