He played for a team and coach which quit on him in the second quarter. They were just going through the motions, kinda like our team did in the second half of the bowl game. He has a lot of talent and deserved better from his team and coach. I think he would be a good fill in if Gmac is unable to do the job.

Who’s is that elite talent? Our #2 WR had as many yards as his #1. Their run game was beyond pathetic, forcing him and the team to become one dimensional most games. His OL gave up more sacks than UT’s despite Ty being more mobile than Joey. You’re looking at the name and simply assuming they had elite talent, there’s a reason they lost 4 games….

I don’t think the whole family is huge UT fans. His dad is from MS and played at State and Southern Miss. His only connection to UT is coaching in the greater UT system.

There’s also a reason they went to the 2nd round of the playoffs. They had elite talent, just check their last 4 years of recruiting

And you think all of them are still there? The portal didn’t affect them on the way out? They made it to the playoffs because there’s 12 teams now doofus. If this is a 4 team playoff and bama has 3-4 losses are you calling them elite? No. If his talent around him was so elite why didn’t they block better, why didn’t they put up better numbers?

No thank you to Ty Simpson. He’s not that good. He had some good games and he had some really bad games. Too inconsistent.

Change of scenery could work for Ty. I think DeBoer will go with the younger kid moving forward and Ty needs to move on. Will leave it up to Josh and Joey H. to evaluate which qb they invest time and dollars in. Their track record is really elite: Hooker and Milton in NFL and Aguilar with unprecedented success showing up at the last minute in the Nico trade. Making the playoffs with Nico is no doubt impressive.

Ty could do a lot worse than the Vols should he get a portal offer.
