Trying to Confirm

I was told by a former player who tailgates with some big donors that they have told Hart they will write the check for Dooleys buyout. This was after the Floriduh game. Tifwiw.

Sounds like Haslam and Peterson trying to run things again. Aren't they the ones who bought out Fulmer in 08 (after the BAMA game)?

A decision may be made prior to the season ending (an announcement) confirming that decision may even be made, but no way in hell will the change be made until the regular season ends. Anyone who thinks otherwise is plain delusional.

What you said is exactly what Hamilton did in '08, and the team continued to implode. However, I believe it MAY be the right move in the long haul... while being the wrong move in the short run...

What Tennessee needs is a coach that has proven ability to coach and RECRUIT. We have to have both or we are wasting the schools money. There are too many proven coaches and recruiters in the SEC. We have not had a five star running back sense BB and he packed his bags and went home. It took South Carolina a while but good coaching and good recruiting is what this team is lacking.

If they wrote the check for Fulmer's buyout, why are we still paying him installments? Oh, I bet you heard it on the internet. Guess I am mistaken.

Losing to MSU does that.
You're absolutely right, but remember:

* We played MSU on their turf

* Mullen is a really good coach... with a good staff

* MSU is a pretty good (NOT great) team this year.

This puts CDD has having a 0 - 13 record against ranked teams... not an enviable record. And, by the end of the season, it will probably be a 0 - 15 record against ranked teams.

Zero chance, zero chance they fire him during the season. No source other than common sense.

Although common sense dictates otherwise, there's always a chance. Remember, Hart is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and he is PERHAPS a spy for his buddies down at BAMA.

i don't think it really matters now the season is shot, recruits have to have a feeling that a move is gonna be made. it would actually give us an advantage because the coach if he isn't coaching can recruit while dooley or a interm finishes the season out.

Not trying to argue, but I don't think the NCAA would look very kindly on that sort of thing. I haven't read the rule book, but there is a limit to how many recruiters you can have and I am guessing they have to officially be part of the staff.

I don't like it as much as I was pulling for him but think the same, he gets one more year.

I agree. However, if Haslam, Peterson, and other "big donors" were to agree to pay CDD's buyout... I daresay this would be CDD's last season.

That's excellent information but I'll never be a alaBubba insider, LOL.

That makes it even easier for Saban to come to Tennessee to win his 3rd National championship at his 3rd college.

At least my rumor is more fun and would mean winning lots faster than the Grudenites thinking he'll quit a easy job for more $$$ than what Tennessee would pay him.

VFL...GBO!!!

I get Saban's a great coach, arguably the best. But, I dont think I could stand to see him on our sideline wearing orange. How do go from loathing someone to pulling for them?

I think there's about as much chance Saban comes here as our government announcing they are breading bigfoot's to be homeland security guards.

I actually agree with most of what you say and I hate Saban for the outright Liar that he is.

Even so you have to admit that my rumor of Saban to Tennessee is actually more logical than the Grudenites rumor that Gruden would quit a really easy job right after he just signed a new 5 year contract.

Saban is a ego maniac and he would love to coach at another SEC school and win another NC at the 3rd SEC school so he'll always be known as the greatest college football coach to ever walk the sidelines.

Then he could retire and go fishing the rest of his life.

VFL...GBO!!!

So why would Sexton be making calls? He is Dooleys agent, he should be sitting by waiting on UT to act

SBV you don't have to answer

Do agents work through one another? What Im asking is if Coach X is to be contacted, does Sexton have to approach his agent?

Thanks.

Someone mentioned that Chris Low made the statement on The Nation that Hart has already sent
out feelers to see which coaches would be interested

At this point, dont know if true, so dont shoot thr messenger

Heard this rumor since the UF game. I am pretty sure Hart is looking around and putting feelers out there.

he would be dumb not to, but I think the rest are just rumors.

Hart must have the support of the big money boosters to make a change, just as Hammy did (except for Thornton which he did not). It will be Hart that initiates the roll call in my opinion. Jury is still out as we are just halfway through the season. Finish 4-2 and DD is certainly back next year.

So its OK to lose AGAIN to Bama, Florida, Georgia, and even stoop down to losing at MS State? Hell no.
