One point of considerable interest (and concern) to all of us regardless of political slant: Given that the FBI withheld the fact that it was conducting a formal investigation into potential Trump/Russian collusion prior to the election, but NOW is letting this cat out of the bag suggests that evidence supporting such collusion has INCREASED since that time. Think about that for just a second. This fact, combined with Comey's otherwise terse responses, does earn the dubious "grey skies over the white house" comments emanating from Monday's hearing.
The Donald's mantra has always been "win at all costs". Would that actually include him knowingly having his campaign staff secretly working with one of our nation's greatest enemies to win the election? Honestly, I just can't bring myself to believe that even a lying, principal-devoid Trump would do this IF he believed that Russia was an "enemy of the state". BUT, here's the catch: Trump doesn't consider Russia an enemy. In fact, he admires Putin more than Obama! He even said so.
So, by The Donald's logic, he would view any effort to work with our "friends" in Russia to bring all of the damaging DNC emails to the public light simply as that - bringing the "truth" to light. No harm, no foul, right? In fact, he would probably argue that we should THANK HIM for his efforts to help his good buddies at Wikileaks get all this information about Clinton's "corruption" out in public.
Sadly, I fear it's no stretch of the imagination to view this scenario as being completely realistic and possible.
If true, it would be the greatest political scandel in our nation's history, without doubt, and I can't even fathom what effects this would have on our system.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
