Michael Flynn, President Trumps former national security adviser, reportedly discussed ways to take a man wanted by the Turkish government out of the United States without going through the legal extradition process, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The conversation, which took place during the presidential race while Flynn was serving as an unpaid adviser to Trump, centered around Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen.
Having seen Trump's comments following today's events, I'm forced to conclude that he is even a more pathetic president than I had previously thought.
Never his fault, right?
Why not just say, "We know we have to act. The current system is unsustainable. I shouldn't have pushed this first, but I did it because I really want us to get this corrected. So what I'm going to do is pull the bill now, and arrange some conferences with leadership in both chambers, including Democrats, to see if we can get past our differences and pass a good fix to the system. I'm open to all ideas, let's see if we can get this done."

I remember thinking this same thing back in 2009.
The problem wasn't today (although blaming Democrats was dumb).
The problem was all the hallow claims he made before about having an awesome plan when he clearly didn't.
