The question becomes do you honestly believe Trump told Cohen he could sell access to the President, or is it more likely Cohen, acting on his own, saw a way he could profit from his connection. I know what I find more plausible, and I'm fairly certain I know what you'd like to be true, and they aren't the same thing. Sometimes trust gets put in people who let us down. You don't think the same could happen to Trump? Unless directed by Trump himself, Cohen's actions are a reflection of Cohen himself, not an indictment of Trump.
I actually agree with you... but will Trump distance himself from Cohen and denounce Cohen's actions, or will Trump keep Cohen as his personal attorney and publicly defend him as a "good man" while insisting that Cohen has done nothing wrong and that this whole story is "fake news" and an attempt by Democrats in Congress to smear a good and honest man?
If you're being honest, you know which way Trump is going to go here.

I always try to be honest. My thought, Trump rarely thinks, he reacts. So he's more likely to defend Cohen because in his mind, those attacking Cohen are doing so to attack him. He's not wrong. But if he took time to step back and think, "Hey, wait a minute, why are these people sending him funds?", he might realize he should distance himself. That's not Trump's style. Never has been. So why would I expect it to suddenly change?
Trump has many shortcomings and his brash nature lends to people knowing what many of those shortcomings are. Despite that, no evidence has emerged to suggest he be impeached.

Luther, accepting your argument Trump has passed that point, haven't many prominent figures in both parties passed that point as well? So why are we not shouting for them to be ousted, too? Is it because all of this really isn't about trust at all? Of course it is. You don't want Trump out of office because you don't trust him. You never trusted him. You want Trump out of office because you don't like him. But that's not an impeachable offense. That's why you keep hoping and praying Mueller (or really anyone) digs up some dirt to kick him out. And the sad part is you don't care what extremes Mueller goes to, what laws he breaks in trying to do it, you just want him to succeed because you hate Trump that much.
Trustworthy, lol. What President hasn't been caught lying? Didn't matter if they were Republican or Democrat, they all lied, then came up with excuses in the few and far between times they were actually called on it. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying, but he wasn't kicked out of office. And hell, Hillary was caught in just as many lies as Trump, yet you still tried to get her elected. This whole "trustworthy" argument you're raising is a lie. I guess my question for you is, are you lying to us, or are you lying to yourself? I just know that your reason for bashing Trump isn't about him being untrustworthy, otherwise you would have bashed a lot of other politicians before now.
It's not that Trump lies; all presidents have lied. It's just that Trump lies so much more than any previous president.
It's not that Trump is a con man; all presidents were con men. It's just that Trump is such a bigger con than any previous president.
It's not that Trump is untrustworthy; all presidents were untrustworthy. It's just that Trump is so much more untrustworthy than any previous president.
Whether or not there is an impeachable offense out there; I certainly think so. We'll just have to wait a little longer.
