TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Ah, the old argument by assertion. Why it is pathetic and dumb? I'm simply using it to make a point about what the public should be focused on the most. It's a standard ploy by Fox to focus on the sideshows when bad information comes out instead of the bad information and what it may portend.

My memory may be less than it used to be, but didn't this whole Russian collusion story get legs as an outcry/sideshow to the DNC/Hillary/campaign emails being released? Nobody on the left, whether politicians, lefty media, or just old Joe Democrat, wanted to talk about the emails. Just the sideshow about who released them.

It's such a hectic schedule, they have to work in shifts. Not just Schiffs. Shifts.

Do you remember Trump's campaign pledge to "drain the swamp"? This is exactly the type of conduct that Trump insisted wouldn't be a part of his administration during his campaign. This is the buying and selling of influence. And it involves his own personal attorney. This isn't fake news or any creation of the democrats. Trump has added man eating crocs to the swamp... not drained it.

The question becomes do you honestly believe Trump told Cohen he could sell access to the President, or is it more likely Cohen, acting on his own, saw a way he could profit from his connection. I know what I find more plausible, and I'm fairly certain I know what you'd like to be true, and they aren't the same thing. Sometimes trust gets put in people who let us down. You don't think the same could happen to Trump? Unless directed by Trump himself, Cohen's actions are a reflection of Cohen himself, not an indictment of Trump.

Nope.

Because Trump.

If a pattern appears with the people we "trust" continually being shown to be untrustworthy, then there comes a point when we must re-evaluate our ability to adequately access trustworthiness. Trump has passed that point.

Of course, there's always the possibility that is was their lack of character that appealed to Trump in the first place.

I fully admit it's possible that Cohen sold a false bill of goods and couldn't provide the access/input that he pitched. But that's not something we can conclude as of right now. To my understanding, Cohen still identifies as Trump's personal lawyer and Trump verified that a few weeks ago on Air Force 1. Now I know Cohen contracted with AT&T and Novartus under the name of Essential Consultants, LLC, but let's be honest, when you retained that Essential Consultants, you retained Trump's personal attorney. That doesn't even have a faint scent of impropriety to you?

Impropriety by Trump? No. Is it unusual for a lawyer to have more than one client?

Trump isn’t the party the country has a trust problem with regardless how much you guys try to manufacture a trust issue.

The DOJ leadership past and some present and former intelligence apparatus heads are the dirty bastards we have trust problems with.

Keep trying to sell that illusion though. Again if anything Trump has been consistent.

Luther, accepting your argument Trump has passed that point, haven't many prominent figures in both parties passed that point as well? So why are we not shouting for them to be ousted, too? Is it because all of this really isn't about trust at all? Of course it is. You don't want Trump out of office because you don't trust him. You never trusted him. You want Trump out of office because you don't like him. But that's not an impeachable offense. That's why you keep hoping and praying Mueller (or really anyone) digs up some dirt to kick him out. And the sad part is you don't care what extremes Mueller goes to, what laws he breaks in trying to do it, you just want him to succeed because you hate Trump that much.

Trustworthy, lol. What President hasn't been caught lying? Didn't matter if they were Republican or Democrat, they all lied, then came up with excuses in the few and far between times they were actually called on it. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying, but he wasn't kicked out of office. And hell, Hillary was caught in just as many lies as Trump, yet you still tried to get her elected. This whole "trustworthy" argument you're raising is a lie. I guess my question for you is, are you lying to us, or are you lying to yourself? I just know that your reason for bashing Trump isn't about him being untrustworthy, otherwise you would have bashed a lot of other politicians before now.

A sign in Maryland tells liberals to get their guns if they try to impeach Trump - CNN
It's not uncommon to see political signs dotting the roadways; it's an election year, after all.

But one political sign in Maryland's Calvert County has residents doing a double take.
"Hey liberals," it reads. "Better get your guns if you try to impeach President Trump. From all of your deplorables in Calvert County."

I wonder where this person gets his news.

How many days on the countdown Luther?

You disappoint me. When have I ever said you or those like you are wrong about Trump's character. I haven't. I'm simply pointing out that your argument that it's his character that should get him impeached is lunacy. Impugn his character if you like. He certainly makes it easy. Does not change the fact that character is not something that results in being impeached. And let's be honest, the reason the whole character argument is constantly brought up is because you have zero proof of actual illegal activity, something that could get Trump impeached.

I used to believe layers dealt with truths and evidence, but the more I read EL's and LG's posts, the more I question that belief.
