30 new Regiment of Renown announced. Chaos, Beastmen, Norsca, Bretonnia and Wood Elves. 6 each I would guess, which would be less than the others. part of the norsca FLC

not that it matters much but some really cool tid bits about Norsca.

ENG GAME!!!!!!!
not exactly sure what triggers it but once you are far enough along with the worship of one god the game starts triggering "challengers". The first wave is actually two campaign armies (hordes I think) for two gods chosen at random. Once you have defeated them the third challenger from the last god is a quest battle. After that is the Chaos invasion. You can either side with Archaon and get some minor buffs. Or declare against him and get some major buffs. Pretty sure one was -50% upkeep. they just made them real interesting to play as.

also the Norscans unlock unique techs when you take certain major faction strongholds, Karak Draz, Karak a Karak, Altdorf, Couronne, Tilean one, Castle Drakenhof. these also give insane buffs. pretty sure one was +25% weapon strength, decreased upkeep and a bunch of other stuff.

also also, if you go with the Hound (Khorne) the unique unit is a RoR Hellcannon. Except instead of just 1 you get 4 in a unit.

looking forward to seeing how broke these guys are.

first reaction. norscans are boring to play as. definitely different than the others. but the game is just a race to the biggest monsters you can get. no balance, no strategy. monster hunts are fun and different. Wulfrics quest battle is difficult unless you have mammoths. which could be said for the whole dang campaign. seriously losses don't matter as long as your mammoth is still alive at the end.

campaign map out. a couple things of note (at least for me).

1. most of Lustria is/are ruins. lore correct but it will be interesting to see how this works
2. three active lizardmen factions in the southlands.
3. they are still being sneaky about the skaven, who may fill a lot of the ruins, at least in Lustria and the Southlands.
4. at least two dwarf factions in the southlands including Karak Norn (lost hold in lore)
5. no araby, no tomb kings. replaced with a lot of filler units although some of it may stay.
6. if this is the map I doubt Tomb Kings are part of it, a good bit of their empire is cut off in the top right of the southlands.
7. Albion belongs to the Skaeling. I don't like this on a lore stand point, also will be curious to see how combined campaign handles this.
8. 1 real big beef with the Dark Elves having a major foothold in Ulthuan (Cult of Excess)

if I feel like it (i am sure I will) I will try to guess some of the skaven names. thankfully the question marks look like they are the correct number. ie. skaven at the top is 6 ?, and each of the names is two words and the first is always 4?, which fits "Clan" whatever.

there are some 20 minute videos out about the skaven campaign. showing building trees, tech, and skills. lots of good stuff. including that Black Arks for the Dark Elves will be movable cities that can help land battles (similar to shogun 2). no way that is broke at all. no way.

slowly? I have been on the hype train for a while. 41 days. and I have already asked off that Thursday and Friday it launches so I can play. I didn't even do that for the first one.

I try to withhold excitement to alleviate all the waiting and aching that comes for releases like this lol

thankfully football is coming up. so having both has kept me from getting too excited about one over the other.

WH2 comes out on my wife's birthday AND I have class all day until about 9 PM that day. I won't get to play until it's been out for a couple of days, unfortunately.

Saw the Skaven campaign play. I'm excited for the ruins mechanic. It'll definitely fuel my paranoia.

and the guy who had been doing the videos is gone, which would explain why they haven't released anything new.
