Depth at WR yes but the guy is skilled. Would hate to lose him. Hopefully he can get this cleaned up in the summer if the rumor is valid.

Looks like you maybe jumped the gun or misinterpreted what was said. Do you have a link or quotes so we can see what was actually written?

"Is it safe to assume that Pearson is in danger of not being eligible this fall?"

I don't think I'm supposed to link to competitive sites.
But, it's the one with a q in its name.

Is there any context to that question or was the guy just speculating? Was his question reasonable based on what was written? Honestly curious, not flaming.

that answer.
It is a pay site....I'm not a member....
So, I only saw that headline but not the responses.
I brought it here, because this is my main site for Vol news with several UT insiders. So, was hoping someone here could shed some light on this topic.
Wasn't trolling or trying to scare folks. :mf_surrender:

Love Pig but he ain't a Pearson. Von is a game changer.

I really hope you meant to use blue font here. What in world has Von done here that would give you the idea he's better than Pig. Pig is the best WR we have has shown it time and time again. Von is fast but he did next to nothing last year.

Pig was our healthiest and most consistent WR last year. If Pearson can stay healthy, he can do more with the ball in his hands than Pig.

What do you base this opinion from? Your personal film study? Von has yet to show anything to put him in the same discussion with Pig. Sure he's fast but that isn't all you have to be at WR.

Next to nothing??

Despite missing 2 games and being hobbled for a majority of the season, Von was 2nd in receptions, 4th on the team in yards from scrimmage (behind Hurd, Pig and Lane) and led the team in TD catches. Pig was obviously our most productive and consistent WR last year, he was great. However, there's no doubt that Von has a higher ceiling that Pig. Hopefully both stay healthy along with North and we see a special WR corps this year.

summer school will change all of that pretty quickly if true. He is such a quality young man I hope he gets it done. Come on Von!

Word.

Von played as well as an injury riddled JUCO WR can be expected to do. He could, if eligible and healthy, be our best WR this year. He has great hands, runs good routes, and has incredible wiggle and agility. He makes things happen. You can't overstate his importance.

I'm teaching Contemporary Moral Problems this Summer - send him my way. I'm not going to do him any favors, but it's not the most difficult class. It's something that if you're willing to try, you'll pass.

The contemporary moral problem you will be teaching is should I pass this kid so I don't get murdered by volnation

I am a paying member of the other site...and the only reference made is that the coaching staff would like to see VP display the same consistency (having made great strides) off of the field as he has on. Period.
Now, I do not post on here as I am older than most and have a job...but, I read daily and follow EVERY UT outlet for all sports. TIFWIW...

No...TOS didn't. They said that he has grown and made strides, but coaches were pushing for more consistency from him...from his approach on the field to in the classroom.

People will read into that and I'm sure some will nosedive off of the nearest cliff, but nothing was said about eligibility. Period.

Do.... do we crucify OP now?

I would feel like such a monster if I failed VP. I might have to go into hiding, and return those free UT Orange and White Tom's kicks I got today.
