My favorite TSA story is when we came back from our honeymoon. they pulled us aside to check our bags. I dropped a $20 bill by accident. TSA picked it up and said you are good to goThey are probably more qualified to look at suitcases than they are for the job they were doing. Might be a good spot for them. Can’t hurt so put them in there.
Many have self deported -- likely out of fear more than financial incentives. That doesnt excuse the way the laws are being enforced. And yet “the way the law is being enforced” also includes DHS offering $2600 to illegals immigrants who chose to self deport. Pretty generous for a “cruel” effort if you ask me.
Look at it this way, the people being deported are those who were given an easy and beneficial chance to comply with the law; no penalty, no fuss. Those who didn’t take the offer are CHOOSING to CONTINUE to defy the law.
Not very often that someone breaking the law is given a chance to stop breaking the law that actually gives you a benefit.
Mr. Trump's directive caught officials at ICE off guard and they have been scrambling to come up with a plan to enforce it, the sources familiar with the matter told CBS News, requesting anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press.
"I have no idea what we're doing," one DHS source said when asked about the president's order.
How does this make things faster? What a stupid waste of money
Ok then how do you help TSA agents while they aren’t getting paid because of Democrats since they have had over 400 quit. How is it a waste right now with ICE trying help until the Democrats stop punishing TSA employees. You can't see how spending taxpayer money for them to stand around an airport is a waste?
How are they helping? They can't perform any TSA functions and are mostly just standing around. Best way to help them would be to accept one of the seven (nine now?) funding proposalsOk then how do you help TSA agents while they aren’t getting paid because of Democrats since they have had over 400 quit. I am all for states thumbing their nose to the feds. I just recognize that comes with the consequence of less/no federal funding. if it isn't part of it, it should be.That would increase Federal control over the states though. Way back when revenue sharing was debated and agreed, was any such withholding part of the arrangement?

pull the federal funding for those 19. but otherwise don't engage them. put out a simple statement "because State X is not working with federal agents according to our laws, we will no longer be providing federal funds to State X."
let the state flounder and react, while you ignore them. verbally/online engaging these states was one of the worst ideas Trump has had, which is saying something.

as with any addiction, once you are hooked, its difficult to get to break the habit; but worth the effort.
