Too much ice

I appreciate the post. Very much.

I have chosen in my free will to be a slave to Christ. My suffering (if I suffer) is in His hands and according to His will. I have faith that it is for His gain.
@McDad your reply is worth more than Gold. It’s an eye opener that I haven’t put all my faith in Christ and in Christ alone. You really made me sit and think about this situation. I let anger blind the truth in these matters. You are far more spiritually mature than I am; but I hope to become as strong as you are. This is exactly what we were just studying in church 1 Corinthians 3:1-4.

No matter what happens on this Earth, we know our future. I just get worried for the life my two infant nieces are going to experience. I can protect myself; but I worry for them.

...in the context of Christian persecution in current day America?
In the context of anyone being illegally/unjustly harassed or abused, needing the protection of the law.

I don't think God would say, "Yah. But that's my kids, so protection by the law isn't appropriate for them". It was His church he was promising earthly authorities to be His work on earth. That's one reason He told His CHURCH to submit.

I don't think we revolt or cause chaos. I do believe we have equal protection under God's plan of earthly gov't.
I'll add that I missed the initial part about the time for "pacifism" being over. I don't think that Christians are called to be strict pacifists, and I don't think that it's unGodly fear to be ready to protect those whom He has put in our care.

If we read Romans 13, it seems to read as an example that fulfils an overall principal. The logic seems to be:

1. ALL levels of earthly authority are established by God for the benefit of those who have been established under that authority.
2. Part of that authority entails the responsibility to protect those who have been established under that authority.

The only fear/terror mentioned in the verses is the terror that should come upon the "evildoers".

I will not look for trouble, and I will look for every conceivable peaceful outcome. But if someone(s) are threatening to hurt or terrorize my family, there will come the time that they should be afraid. (That's not me trying to sound like an internet bad***. It is literally me voicing the responsibility that I believe God has given me as the earthly provider and protector of my family--whom God loves even more deeply than I do.)

You still haven't figured out what bootlicker means lol, describing every protest as if it's a hate crime with the government coming in to save the day means you are proving that poster's exact point
Liberals told to vote for Harris probably need a refresher of the definition. Probably will see a steady decline in the word chirped here.

I think we have that expectation in America. We are supposed to be equal under the law. But throughout our history equality under the law has slipped through our fingers. Of course, we are much better protected than Christians in Rome to whom Paul was writing his letter. My feeling is if Paul encouraged Roman christians to understand Roman leaders are in seats of power by the will of God (and roman christians were abused), then that encouragement goes for us today and our abuse or persecution is non-existent (or close to it).

I agree with your ideas pacifism. The irony to me is that the church grew most rapidly when Christians were at the height of persecution.

You are too kind. I am as immature and fallible as any brother or sister. Any wisdom I offer is certainly evidence the Holy Spirit is working through me.

I don't think you are unjustified in your worry for your nieces and the future they inherit. Hopefully, it will be better all around.

(No sarcasm.) Then you are in agreement? (I promise. No sarcasm. Just seeking clarity what your criticism was.) Then why accuse someone who states that the fullness of US justice should be applied to those who illegally harass and terrorize the church in America?

Agreed whole heartily! Persecution has been the soil in which the church has historically grown.

Still don't see how that negates a call for justice for those abused by lawlessness. I just can't fathom how that expectation in a Christian should be criticized as Godless fear as opposed to standing on the promises that God has given us.

(Who was it that initially told the old story about the guy in the flood that kept refusing boats and helicopters as flood waters drove him up to his roof, claiming that he was trusting God to save him? Until he drowned and asked God in heaven why He didn't save him. "Well, I sent you three boats and a helicopter." Seems to me that calling upon His stated earthly provisions is trusting in Him every bit as much as expecting miracles.)

Also...

(Note: Romans 13 was the section that kept me from becoming a full-on anarchist during the season of the fullness of my contempt for human nature in earthly gov'ts. I can trust Him if I can't trust our government. Sometimes that takes more faith than expecting miracles. :) )

The time for being a Pacifist is coming to an end. A Christian is the only category/belief that isn’t protected in this Country.

Bunkum. Christians have as much protection as anyone else. Don't get the vapors.
The full extent of the law should be applied to these thugs. We don’t pay taxes to live in a Country of people that disturb our lives. Call in the military and eradicate this disease.
Your boot licker reflex is out of control. It's not that big of a deal. The military's not needed.

Masked agents of the federal government are breaking down doors without a warrant to drag old naked Americans out of their homes and into the bitter cold streets as detainees, and you dudes who cried "freedom from tyranny," and "rule of law," and "freedom over security" the most are firmly siding with tyranny.

No sarcasm on my end. I agree that christians in america should expect equal protection. If a group of people are illegally harassing a church congregation or worship service, the church should expect LEO to come out and enforce the laws.

My larger point is less about what has occurred and what someone expressed as a fear of things worsening for christians in the future.

I've gone through it earlier in the thread. In short, acting like goons.
Again, specifics? I'd like to see actual evidence of illegal activity from ICE

And even then, anyone can protest them, no one is complaining about that, they are complaining about the illegal criminal behavior by too many of these protestors

A quick study of the facts reveal ICE had two warrants for two sex offenders matching the same name and address of the vehicle owner that this guy's son was driving. They did a knock and talk on the house, and asked for this guy's photo and fingerprints because he refused to cooperate and refused to show ID.

This one made the news in Singapore. ICE is making us look good.
