Being berated by "two lesbians" isn't an issue if he's a trained professional that's supposed to let that go in one ear and out the other one. That doesn't even play in any legal sense. That's the height of ignorance.
Hey Pal, we agree whole heartedly on sports issues, so let's leave it at that. In person, that's what I would want to discuss with you like most men. Politics aren't remotely close to what I engage with people about in social settings dialogueIt obviously matters. Because it helps determine how he would perceive their actions as threatening.
If they were handing out hot chocolate to the agents and one of them hit an agent you might think āaww, sheās just a bad driverā. But if sheās berating you prior your more likely to perceive her as a threat.
And the entire question at hand is the perception of the agent

I am not worked up, but you certainly are, so much so, that you're going all out in an effort to prove your point. I explained how berating him works. I am the one extending an olive branch and you can't accept it? Who is worked up? I am happy AF our group saved 37 dogs today from being killed by having them transported to a no kill shelter half way across the US. I am glad we agree on sports' mattersYouāre welcome to get as worked up as you wish. Doesnāt change any of the facts. They berated the man and then hit him with their car creating plenty of reason to make someone fear for their life
I hope the child has a complete recovery.I do believe he was in fear for his life or serious bodily injury. I do not believe he had the benefit of slow-motion frame-by-frame analysis of the situation as we have. I think @lawgator1 has given a pretty good analysis of the legal standard and application here. I would encourage you to seek that out and read it, if you havenāt already.
I am not saying you are unreasonable in seeing it differently than me, I am simply saying I donāt see it the way you do. I think the officer acted responsibly as a law enforcement officer in this situation.
I wish it hadnāt ended up this way; I donāt think this woman was wicked in her intentions any more than I think the agent was, but I certainly would see how he felt in danger of death or serious bodily injury.
Of course, that may be because I have spent the last 7 months at various ICUs, hospitals and rehabs while dealing with a child who has TBI as a result of being struck by a car.![]()
No. It was not reasonable and I do not believe he reached that conclusion. That wasnāt the question. You can always avoid shooting someone. You can choose to die even in the worst circumstances.
The question at hand is when two women show up intentionally to agitate, berate you, and then proceed to hit you with their car. Is it reasonable to assume theyāre attempting to cause you great bodily harm and/or death? Is it reasonable to believe theyāre attempting may be trying to kill you?
To anyone living in reality (not in public schools), the answer is an obvious yes

I havenāt seen a single post saying āhe had no optionā. He chose the worst option but even then he was still within his legal bounds.
^^^^^^^^This will officially be my stance...........at least for now^^^^^^I have no doubt he may have been found to violate policy and be terminated from employment. Policy isnāt law though.
If anything, the people making a big deal out of him being berated (honestly the deceased seemed like she was perfectly nice to him when they spoke) should be the Lutherās who say it wasnāt legal.Being berated by "two lesbians" isn't an issue if he's a trained professional that's supposed to let that go in one ear and out the other one. you seem to have an unhealthy fixation on the whole "lesbian" angle.I canāt believe we live in a world where two lesbians canāt go out to yell at law enforcement and hit them with their cars, without having to fear for their life!
