Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

The Elander choice is safe because it keeps the current team together. They will stay and play for him this year. IF he's successful, then he can make the case to recruits that he was Tony's right hand man and they are moving the progress he made forward.

I don't think most fans understand how quickly this can go south if we lose the current team..
I think the roster takes a hit with or without Elander and Elander isn't going to get the job.

This is where the former players are VERY interesting.

They are a voice the UTAD can't control...and one the fanbase is still VERY connected to. If he cleans house, heat isn't going to be the word DW feels. They will be raging.

If he cleans house, Danny Dollars will be feeling it in the only place that matters to him, his wallet. He is not going to keep season ticket renewals sold out or have the same commitment from the fan’s if he thinks people will be okay with the entire program Tony built being destroyed from the recruits to the staff.

He’s actually gonna make less after Cali taxes but I do agree with you that the lure to run a team in the big leagues is intriguing for coaches. The biggest issues that Tony will have in MLB is 1. Relying on someone else to build his team 2. Not being able to act like a bro anymore and 3. Getting used to losing 50+ games even when you’re good.
Seems to be your wish.

I don't think so. I just don't think baseball is that important in the grand scheme of things to really affect him one way or the other. Sad as that is.

Um Uh Um well um uh blah blah blah. DW sounds rattled and is horrible at public speaking. What a douche. His ego also knows no bounds.
He's actually at great at public speaking. Check out the presser when his hiring was announced, or when Heup/Kim was hired, or other speaking engagements he's done, etc. He was simply nervous and unsure during this, and it showed.

His popularity has taken a hit recently for ticket price increases. Now he knows there's a narrative out there, correct or incorrect, that is blaming him for running off the most successful and popular coach on campus.

This is gonna be a disaster. Hire Elander. Its easy. He might fail but whoever else you hire might fail as well.

This will stop the bleeding and give us a shot at a quick rebound right back into national contenders. Losing the whole roster and recruiting momentum could put this right back in the gutter.

I am going to repeat this every time I see it: he was willing to make Tony the second highest (at one point the highest) paid coach and has a $105 million dollar stadium upgrade in progress. But yeah, Danny is cheap.

Danny White did not hire the best coach on campus - John Currie did! And Tony V. was the best coach on campus by a country mile! Not Danny White's style to talk to Tony Vitello.

Oh yeah, the fanbase sure loved that guy! Wonder what ever happened to him at UT?

The tried and true reaction of "He wasn't that good anyway" or He'll regret this decision". A predictable and classic Volnation reaction to either losing a coach or losing a highly rated recruit or transfer.
Dude, he’s literally going to a land that is completely foreign to him! There is no recruiting going on in MLB, they are literally a thumb sitting on a bench with a choice of 25 guys to play. Hes not in charge of putting that roster together, he’s not really in charge of anything. I’d actually see him quitting before he gets fired because he will be bored to tears sitting on the dugout steps with nothing to do. There’s a reason idiots like Snitker were managers for ages. They played, couldn’t play well enough, spent their dues in minors forever and coached a team to the World Series. It’s because he didn’t care to be told what to do and he sure didn’t recruit or teach players that made millions more than he did how to play the game. His old players can push for him all they want, but in the end a computer could do the job of a manager in MLB.

What's your message to Volnation who isn't happy?

" I don't know. We won a national championship and a lot of games. We should be happy for him. This isn't a sad day. It's a proud day."
🤮🤮🤮

Screw this guy. Second coming of Mike Hamilton.

“This isn’t a sad day.”

Just when I thought I was mature enough to not cuss another man to his face in front of my children…Hope they aren’t with me if I ever see this bi.ch around campus.
