Tony Elliott Appears To Be a Target

Saw this in another thread. If true this whole board is going to blow up either tonight or tomorrow morning. Someone needs to secure the servers.

I think it's pretty stupid of this fan base. So we just made this AD the second highest paid AD in the country. He had the green light to swing big. But just bc he swings big doesn't mean anyone bites. We are not in a good spot right now
Yea, but swinging big and missing doesn’t mean we go and hire a rookie first timer.

Another inexperienced hire if true...this is not a learn as you go job, isn't that clearly what the administration stated in the press conference this week. Danny White already losing credibility if this is true.....I cannot get behind an up and comer again.....I do not care how good of an Offensive coordinator Elliott is, being the CEO of the team is so much more than drawing up and calling plays......

Excited until I see a reason not to be. Elliott has been courted by multiple NFL teams for OC jobs. Great recruiter and the offense he runs has been tearing up the SEC for years now.

That said, I don't know that he would take the job. Huge risk given our situation NCAA wise and the trajectory of his career.

I seriously doubt he would be the AD's fist choice. If the rumors of 7M budget is true it just means nobody was willing to take the job. I think too many people are underestimating the NCAA penalties and how it hampers a program. Leaves you with a G5 guy or an up and comer assistant. Take your pick.

JMO.
But if Elliott was offered the job I dont think the media reports that. Mainly because you expect him to take it and by the time that happened,, thats what they are reporting.
I dont think this AD is into the process playing out in the media like the last one.
