Yep. Some more fantastic copping. Just a dumbass with a badge, gun, and a rule book used to generate revenue.

Over the years, police officers have passed by and waved as she fed homeless people, but last Tuesday night four bike-patrol officers stopped in the park and gave Cheever a ticket that carries a potential fine of $2,000. Cheever has a food permit for her mobile truck, but she was cited for transporting and serving the food from a vehicle other than that truck.

Proof that cops have the ability to exercise discretion and not charge civilians on every trivial violation of the law. These cops should be suspended.

Why would you want non lethal weapons when fighting lethal weapons?

Why don't you ask the 400+ people that are killed every year by police officers? Are you really convinced that they were all armed?

Here's a few notable examples of why police need non lethal weapons:
Unarmed man shot in the back
South Carolina police officer Michael Slager fired after shooting Walter Scott in back - CBS News

Unarmed 7 year shot in the head
Lawyer questions police version of raid that killed girl - CNN.com

Unarmed mentally disabled man shot by the police
After LAPD officers kill mentally ill man, activists demand answers - LA Times

It's amazing how strongly a political party that claims to stand for small government and Christian values aligns themselves with government thugs.

You didn't address the substance of his post. You went into an ad hominem attack. Stay classy.

There was no substance that is the whole point. He made a generalization with no basis. As far as the attack on his character, I did no such thing. I dont know him/her as a person, simply what is posted here which is why I made my statement.

You are wrong as usual. The conservatives on this board are generally the most vocal against police abuses.

In all three incidents you listed, less than lethal force was available to the officers. In the first, it's pretty clear cut to be an example of excessive force in which the individual in question is rightfully going to trial for it.

The second was during a raid in which it went to grand jury. A lot of questions were raised as to the techniques used.

The third incident also came not long after Ferguson where anyone and everyone questioned anything the police did with the motive of racism. And of course, Ezell Ford's death was because of racism. In which it was ignored he attacked an officer and was attempting control of his weapon:

Ezell Ford autopsy: Black man shot in back, side, arm by L.A. police - LA Times

Now was this a case where less than lethal could have been used? Maybe so. And as a reminder, the investigation is still ongoing.

So where in any of these cases does it specifically say none of the police had less than lethal weapons?

I don't count his posts as "countering" at all. Normally it's little more than gibberish and random tangents taken completely out of context.

I'm making an effort to not get sucked in by stupid, it's spring, a time for renewal, happy thoughts and bikinis.

It would be a good day for me to get out and provide my extra contribution to global warming by burning off more of the crap I cut last fall, but it's supposed to rain today.

I've got a three day weekend. Kinda nice just relaxing.
