To Protect and to Serve II

I'm basing this on the whining that cops have given over the years of them not having the training or know-how to correctly deal with certain situations, their exhibited practice of not showing the ability to de-escalate situations and the growth of these busy body Karens that want to have people arrested for the flimsiest of transgressions.

This takes some pressure off of the cops from having to deal with a petty domestic dispute and it makes these Karens and "woke" property owners think twice about coming up with these silly rules now that they know that the cops cannot be used as their attack dogs and enforcers... they will have to enforce their own rules or actually be reasonable and come up with a more diplomatic resolution.

The problem is that the cops are far too involved in too many aspects of our lives... even before COVID. Now over the last year, we've added one more reason for the cops to make visits to either a domestic call or to the local McDonalds/Walmart.
I don't really see the police being the ones who are "whining" more often than not in these situations. I actually have taught de-escalation, and utilize it every day even in the business world, however there are times where you can attempt to "de-escalate" someone for an hour and doesnt change anything. The bank workers explained to her several time about the policy and she refused, then they asked her several times to leave and she refused, the police officer in this case explained to her several times what the issue was and what the law was and what the consequences would be, and she still refused...there is not much else that could've been done to end the incident.

Didn't know where else to put this story, so I guess I'll just put it here:

He Was Wrongfully Convicted Of Murder. Now He's Suing The Rental Car Company That Didn't Provide Receipt Supporting His Alibi.

Stories like this are why I'm against capital punishment.
Agree on the capital punishment, however this is dumb because Hertz didnt have the records he requested in 2011. Also police still believe he committed the crimes and two eye witnesses had ID'ed him to police

I am not sure what you mean by this. If a business calls to have someone removed, the officer has the right/ability to do so.
Don't cops have bigger priorities and concerns than enforcing random private property owner rules?

This is far too much to be putting on cops.

You and i have had this discussion before...it's among the police's duty to remove people (especially violent or disruptive ones) from private properties if the owner has not been able to make them leave. Criminal Trespassing laws exist for a reason, maybe if people weren't dumba**es, intoxicated or psycho, we wouldn't have this being an issue

You were never married to my ex were you?

From violent crime? I absolutely agree.

For enforcing mask mandates? Really?
You’ve been hung up on this for a while now. It’s the businesses decision to have mask rules. It’s the same as businesses requiring shirts and shoes or any other reason. If they decide they don’t want to serve you, that’s their right. If they ask you to leave and you refuse, you are then trespassing and will be removed. It’s private property rights.

If I want you off my property for any reason and you refuse to leave you are a trespasser. Now, I’m fine with your idea of letting the property owner handle theses situations but we need to have some immunity from prosecution and lawsuits.
You should be able to remove people from your property by whatever means you have available to you. Let's see just how strongly you feel about someone not wearing a mask or wearing a red hat or a Confederate flag in your private establishment. Let' see if they are willing to enforce their own rules or if this is really a bunch of petty nonsense that they don't feel strong enough about to get their hands dirty over to resolve.

Put the burden on the property owner that is making the rules and have them responsible for enforcing them... cops are too busy enforcing jaywalking, panhandling and speeding to be bothered with enforcing every homeowners peculiar house rules.

How about you respect the property rights of others and get the **** out of their establishment when they tell you to.

Let me be clear... I'm not against private property rights.

If anything, I'm to the point of wanting to empower property owners and now have property owners enforce their piece of real estate without the need for as much police intervention. Sure, there will be times when police are necessary in extreme cases, but some of these trivial calls to police can be reduced significantly.

Yeah, that would be called hiring a private security service.
