You and i have had this discussion before...it's among the police's duty to remove people (especially violent or disruptive ones) from private properties if the owner has not been able to make them leave. Criminal Trespassing laws exist for a reason, maybe if people weren't dumba**es, intoxicated or psycho, we wouldn't have this being an issueDon't cops have bigger priorities and concerns than enforcing random private property owner rules?
This is far too much to be putting on cops.
You were never married to my ex were you?You and i have had this discussion before...it's among the police's duty to remove people (especially violent or disruptive ones) from private properties if the owner has not been able to make them leave. You’ve been hung up on this for a while now. It’s the businesses decision to have mask rules. It’s the same as businesses requiring shirts and shoes or any other reason. If they decide they don’t want to serve you, that’s their right. If they ask you to leave and you refuse, you are then trespassing and will be removed. It’s private property rights. From violent crime? I absolutely agree.
For enforcing mask mandates? Really?
You should be able to remove people from your property by whatever means you have available to you. Let's see just how strongly you feel about someone not wearing a mask or wearing a red hat or a Confederate flag in your private establishment. Let' see if they are willing to enforce their own rules or if this is really a bunch of petty nonsense that they don't feel strong enough about to get their hands dirty over to resolve. If I want you off my property for any reason and you refuse to leave you are a trespasser. Now, I’m fine with your idea of letting the property owner handle theses situations but we need to have some immunity from prosecution and lawsuits.
Perfectly legal. Totally unnecessary and unethical.

How about you respect the property rights of others and get the **** out of their establishment when they tell you to.You should be able to remove people from your property by whatever means you have available to you. Put the burden on the property owner that is making the rules and have them responsible for enforcing them... cops are too busy enforcing jaywalking, panhandling and speeding to be bothered with enforcing every homeowners peculiar house rules.
Let me be clear... I'm not against private property rights. You’ve been hung up on this for a while now. It’s the businesses decision to have mask rules. Yeah, that would be called hiring a private security service.Let me be clear... I'm not against private property rights.
If anything, I'm to the point of wanting to empower property owners and now have property owners enforce their piece of real estate without the need for as much police intervention. Sure, there will be times when police are necessary in extreme cases, but some of these trivial calls to police can be reduced significantly.
I agree but at this point in time we have what we have. Not every business can afford to hire security to handle these things. Especially since the last year and the absolute assault on small businesses. If anything, I'm empowering the owner to handle the issue. Police don't need to always be involved in these matters.
Panhandling... I swear, Daytona must be a real life Gotham City. Good thing we got this goon off the streets.
And after the last year or so, they may not have another option but to hire their own security. You're either going to have defund the police actions or cops so ticked off that they refuse to go to certain areas.I agree but at this point in time we have what we have. Not every business can afford to hire security to handle these things. Especially since the last year and the absolute assault on small businesses.
He's not a panhandler (weak PC, even for Daytona)...he's not an artist...he's not a "street performer"...he is definitely not a musician...and apparently his shtick is not welcome in Daytona. He's a full-grown dumbass who plays bad guitar in his underwear in Times Square, and those window-lickers up in sophisticated NYC think he's something to be proud of. Somehow I'm not surprised.
Down here where we know weirdos when we see one, he's just another idiot that went to Daytona for BikeFest and came home with another line on his criminal record. It's quite common down that way this time of year. Lots of folks do it.
I'm not a big fan of the arrest, but he came to Daytona for attention, and got it. Pay your fine, and stay your stupid butt in NYC, where they pose for photos with you, instead of you posing for a booking photo.
Sometimes, your function in life is to serve as a cautionary warning to others. This is one of those times.

While I hate wearing a mask ..... this is the only reason I wear them..... it’s not my place of business ... but at the same time.... I went to buy some pants today. I picked out a couple of pairs to try on and went to the fitting room and damn it .... it had a table blocking the door with a sign on it .... “fitting room is closed for your protection”..... well.... I just laid the pants on the table and said “f this”..... I guess covid is mugging and hugging in the fitting roomsYou’ve been hung up on this for a while now.
