To Protect and to Serve II

Just because the first was old doesn't mean the point was invalid. Was just pointing out that this should not be news to anyone.
It's probably news to parents that think their kids are going to be protected if there is a uniformed policeman roaming the halls.

Just because there is a ruling that they are under no obligation legally, doesn't mean that they won't. Just saying.

And, just for making a point, they have.

As soon as the lady opened the door, the cop said, "Hello, Amy..." So they knew her name. Yet, why the nonsense at the end about needing her name? Plus, they are at her house, so they have ways of getting her name. Which they proved at the very end. F&&kin cops...

So why is there a ruling saying cops don't have to protect anyone but themselves while they ride around in cars that say "to protect and serve"?

My local police slogan is "an honor to serve, a duty to protect"

Read the decisions, it's there for you to see. It's for liability, of course, particularly in the SC decision regarding Castle Rock.

Your beef is with lawyers, not cops.

Again I say, if you think these "good ole boy" cops are going to turn down an order to remove your guns from the citizens, you are being delusional. Just how many Northeastern/California liberals do you think work for the TWRA?

That’s why I repeat it every so often.
I don’t want anyone to forget in the gun debate that the police are under no obligation to help you

NYPD Dispatches 1,000 Cops To Stop New Yorkers From Barbecuing On Saturday

Monahan said the NYPD would have bike teams and mounted units on horseback throughout the parks, as well as aviation units working to spot "problem areas" (i.e. the Jews in Brooklyn and New Yorkers across the 5 boroughs who rush to gather an impromptu barbecue on a nice day).

But wait wait... I've been told that not all cops are "bad" cops. In fact, over 99% of them are "good" cops. There is NO WAY that any of the NYPD will really issue tickets to people barbecuing...

A wood chipper would make quick work of these cameras.
If you’re hunting your private property and someone is there that isn’t supposed to be and doesn’t have permission then they could be accidentally shot.

That’s why I hunt specific areas. So nobody gets hurt. It’s crazy to think they could be sneaking around hunting areas unannounced. That’s just stupid.

It’s a matter of imposing the cost upon the city.

Liability theory and the allocation of cost is about to become a big deal in the wake of COViD-19. Would be an interesting subject for law review articles.

Did you pay any attention to the Signal Mountain murder cases when they were going on in Chattanooga?

I know or knew the people involved.
I was once threatened by the murderer while on a 4 wheeler.
So yes I am aware of that psycho.

What I’m saying is, it’s a great fear of mine to accidentally shoot someone while hunting. It’s not good to sneak around private property where people are hunting. Especially if they’re not in orange......which they never are.

Yeah there was a lot more to that story than the example you gave, but it was what popped in my head.

I can't remember if I told the story here or not, but I remember sitting in Perry County court to get a speeding ticket reduced and I heard a very interesting case while I was waiting for my case to come up. This guy was accused of having a feeder too close to his tree stand or just having a feeder in general... I can't remember the details because I'm not a hunter and it was over 15 years ago. But anyways, the guy came to court along with the game warden that charged him and that guy made a pretty compelling and convincing case in his defense. The strength of his defense was based on the location of where the feeder was located and he had evidence to support his case and the game warden's own testimony fell in line with the guy's story. Boy, when that judge hit the gavel and called that guy guilty, that entire courtroom audience was grumbling and shaking their heads. Everybody sitting in attendance disagreed with how that got resolved.

I learned 2 lessons that day. Poor white folks get f#$ked with just like black folks and that game wardens are nothing to screw with.

I have to hand it to that lady, I would’ve shut that conversation down in about 15 seconds and told them to get the F off my property.
