To Protect and to Serve II

There are things called laws. Here’s how it works bruh.

Congress creates and passes bills. The President then signs those bills into law. Federal courts may review these laws and strike them down if they think they do not agree with the U.S. Constitution

And we still get unconstitutional laws that squeak through. The system isn't perfect... far from perfect as of late.

And BTW, just because it is the law, that doesn't mean it is just.

Going back to what started this was the poster said a majority didn’t want it legalized. Hence, the law. You and I probably see this issue similarly however I do not see it as a worthy enough cause to fight for.

And that is where I asked the question, why should it matter what the majority says?

The founding fathers of this country.

Where did the founders say that the federal government (Congress) has the power to regulate narcotics? At least the alcohol temperance movement was constitutional. The same cannot be said for narcotics.

AMENDMENT X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Do you believe someone has a higher claim on your life than you?

Besides God? In a society where we rely on each other I do. Not someone silly, some thing. I believe in family, community, country and they all have “higher claim”. When I vote I am voting for what I believe matches my beliefs. Sometimes I get what I want sometimes I don’t. We’re far from perfect but we’re not Romans being thrown to the lions either.

That’s truly frightening, Tim. No one has a higher claim on my life than me. No one can decide what is best for me, but me. As long as I’m not hurting anyone else, there should be no problem.

When you vote, you’re voting for whatever political parasite will cater to what YOU want. Then they’ll do what they want anyway.

The founding fathers gave congress the ability to make laws. They knew there was no way to foresee what the future held. Its all rather easy to find.

What’s frightening is that someone liked your post. There are prisons full of people who think like you.

The founding fathers gave congress the ability to make laws within the specific powers granted to it in the Constitution. It’s rather easy to find and I just quoted it for you in the above post.

And it’s been argued in front of the SCOTUS. And upheld. So conspiracy theory on.

Same. I just dont pretend to be in my own little world. Seen any guys in trench coats talking into their sleeves lately?

I’m not pretending, it’s clear what world we live in. A world where peaceful people are locked in cages for deciding to do whatever they wish with their own life and bodies.

And the scotus was wrong proving that the govt can’t live within their own rules. What reading do you get out of the tenth amendment or do you defer to 9 guys in goofy robes?
