Predictably, law enforcement and retired law enforcement members of the community are exempted from the ban. Currently, in the U.S., law enforcement kills around 1,200 citizens per year. Ironically, that number is actually four times higher than those who die from rifles.
As TFTP has reported, cops have killed 450 percent more people than have died in the past forty years of mass shootings.
Do you see anything wrong with this cop exemption?
No I agree with you. Of course its crap.
When we saw it we knew you were gonna lose your damn mind over it though😬
I wouldnt sweat it. The NRA has thrown their resources behind it and it violates FOPA1986. It shouldnt survive appeal. 👍

I first wrote about Julian Bettons case in my 2016 series on policing in South Carolina. Betton was raided by a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force after a police informant bought $50 worth of marijuana from him two times. The police broke down Bettons door with a battering ram, then fired at least 57 bullets at him, hitting him nine times. He lost portions of his gallbladder, colon, bowel and rectum, and is paralyzed from the waist down. He also suffered damage to his liver, lung, small intestine and pancreas. Two of his vertebrae were damaged, and another was partially destroyed. Another bullet shattered his leg.
Not nearly enough in monetary retribution.
No excuse with these wrong house raids. Unbelievable that it happens, everyone involved up the chain of command needs to see jail time for incompetence and an inability to carry out the duties of their jobs.
I am a firm believer that there are more good and decent cops than bad. One of the hardest jobs there is, dealing with the lowest scum and types of humans imaginable, and these cops see things that are truly terrible.
They are just people, and like people there are all types. What's sad is that the ignorance and stupidity and intolerable actions of some, does so much damage to the reputation and perception of the good guys and the good things that cops actually do.
Fire the chain of command.... the police received a call Saying someone had killed someone and had the children held hostage....the person at fault is the one that made the prank call.
