To Protect and to Serve II

Did you actually read the article?

I read it. Here is what stuck out to me.

The Hartes argued that police should have known better than to trust field tests, which are notoriously inaccurate. Experiments by Claflin University biotechnologist Omar Bagasra found that one commonly used field test, the NIK NarcoPouch 908, misidentified many legal plant products as marijuana, including spearmint, peppermint, basil, oregano, patchouli, vanilla, cinnamon leaf, lemon grass, bergamot, lavendar, ginseng, anise, gingko, eucalyptus, rose, cloves, ginger, frankincense, vine flower, chicory flower, olive flower, cypress, and St. John's wort. Several of those are common ingredients in herbal tea. In their complaint, the Hartes say the test used to incriminate them has a false-positive rate of 70 percent. They also note that the test is not supposed to be performed on "saturated or liquid samples."

Of course a 30% accuracy rate for a field test sounds exactly like something the cops want to use. Take it to the judge who looks at the positive field test without knowing that the test is not very accurate and he grants the search warrant.

Good enough for a fishing expedition... You may not find reefer or the chronic, but you might be able to get them on some other minor infraction and a fine.

Lets face it. It's not about serving or protecting. Its about driving revenue.

PA State Troopers are on the ball today, one brave trooper was courageous enough to put his life on the line to protect the good citizens of PA. This brave soul issued one of my guys a $10,138.50 for being on a restricted road.

New customer we picked up in Erie has a tank behind their shop we are to empty and replace the filters. Only access is to go around the building and 100 yards onto this road rated for 10 tons. Truck was 35,096lbs over weight for 100 yards, and the sign said 10 tons except deliveries, driver was there to work and not deliver and the filters were already on site.

Good job Mr. Trooper, hope you sleep well tonight you bastage!

Troopers do DOT work there?

I'd fight that hog.

Going to, ultimately it falls on the driver to pay but hell he doesn't have $10K to pay a stupid ass ticket.

We're going to get him an attorney, it will be drastically reduced but in the end this guy being nothing but an SOB will cost a couple thousand dollars.

Carras spoke to defense attorney Dwight Carpenter and Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis, who was appointed to try the case, and concurred that the sentence set forth in the plea agreement was a proper resolution to the case.

Dush was originally charged in May with three counts of third-degree CSC, a 15-year felony; one count of fourth-degree CSC, a two-year felony; one count of extortion, a 20-year felony; one count of attempted bribery, a six-month misdemeanor; one count of misconduct in office, a five-year felony; and one felony firearm violation.

CSC = Criminal Sexual Contact

The entire system looks out for one another.

Update on a case that was posted in the other "To Protect & Serve" thread... seems like the taxpayers have to foot pay the tab again for another dumb pig. The pig gets 2 years probation for breaking bones her face on a concrete bench.

He has a lot of order ways to get this thrown out.

We had a couple trucks get stopped on phoniex ave, (where target is) they were told they could not run that road.

A quick email straightened it out. Trucks are allowed to run on roads, marked or not, if it is the most direct path to and from a location.

They are going to work on it with the township. We took the account from a local vendor who (surprise) never had an issue. They are also going to cover the attorney fees.
