'22 TN RB Jordan James (Oregon commit)

Took Saban 10 seasons as HC to win a NC. Took Dabo 9. Kirby's been a HC for 5.

Absolute garbage argument. Saban was at Toldeo, Michigan State, and a mediocre at best LSU.

Smart walked into a winning program and hasn't really elevated it. He has almost exactly the same record as Mark Richt at this point.

Good thing he isn’t your coach then. We’re pretty happy with winning the East nearly every year, competing for an SEC title/playoffs, and at worst being in a NY6 game.

so you're happy not winning a natty since 80? lol got it.

last I checked that thinking got Richt fired......

Richt never could beat Florida consistently nor recruit anywhere near this level. Look it up. Top 3 classes are a stratosphere from 8/9/10 classes.

We dominate the East. Richt could never sniff the East dominance that Kirby has.

You’ve got 1998 and before that it was the 60s. 98 is no more relevant than 80.

Example, Jordan James wasn’t born in 98.

We’re knocking on the door. It’ll open at some point. Until then, being a top five program at worst is fine with me.

dominating the East the last 10 years isnt saying much......now when you dominate the west, then you could brag about it.

Bama won a couple of NCs before Saban ever got there, so the history was there. If you took a poll of CFB experts, Kirby's name would be at the top of the list of prospective NC winning HCs. I'd bet on him.
There is no argument to 1980.

None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

1980.

well lets see.....

Claimed national titles 6 (1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998)
Unclaimed national titles 8 (1914, 1927, 1928, 1931, 1939, 1956, 1985, 1989)
Conference titles 16 (13 SEC, 2 Southern, 1 SIAA)
Division titles6 (1997, 1998, 2001, 2003 2004, 2007)

vs

Claimed national titles 2 (1942, 1980)
Unclaimed national titles4 (1920, 1927, 1946, 1968)
National finalist1 (2017)
Conference titles15 (13 SEC)

Jordan's dad was barely born in 1980.....

I think it is at least 18 more years relevant than 1980. I was alive when we won the Natty. Were you when Georgia last won theirs?

You’re making my point for me. Before 98, it was 67. 98 is not relevant in 2021. Tee Martin now has a college aged son.

Okay. What the hell is an "Unclaimed National Title"?

So what's your goal here. We get it. We suck and UGA and Alabama are great. Nothing new there. So why are you still here telling us what we already know?

So you're saying there's no learning curve to being a winning HC? Keep up with football much?
