Kyren Williams does that in the NFL, at the 1 yard line, with a GW TD within arm’s reach.Still carries the ball like a loaf of bread.
He fumbled and luckily Baylor recovered it.
That’s his main flaw. The upright running style can be coached up, but the ball security is an issue waiting to happen.
All that said, he runs angry and has break away speed. Great game last night against one of the better defenses in High School football.
Thing we have to keep in mind is he is not the typical “in state” recruit. He is not from here. He just goes to school here.Looks like Buckheads in lead at this point. Maybe the kid wants to go back up north?!?!

You were doing so well up until that last ridiculous statement.Even if the narrative rn is that OSU holds a slight lead, I’d still put it at about 60/40 Vols just considering we should be able to get him to campus pretty much whenever, he’s got friends that are gonna be here, and we’re closing the gap on OSU, hell we might beat them on a neutral site if we played today, who knows.
If we don’t get him, I’m gonna get flak for this, but I think it raises some questions about Sims.

If DGG was a true in-state kid I think that would be fair but he’s not.Even if the narrative rn is that OSU holds a slight lead, I’d still put it at about 60/40 Vols just considering we should be able to get him to campus pretty much whenever, he’s got friends that are gonna be here, and we’re closing the gap on OSU, hell we might beat them on a neutral site if we played today, who knows.

Nope, but would seriously call into question the NIL contributions of those with this expectation.Even if the narrative rn is that OSU holds a slight lead, I’d still put it at about 60/40 Vols just considering we should be able to get him to campus pretty much whenever, he’s got friends that are gonna be here, and we’re closing the gap on OSU, hell we might beat them on a neutral site if we played today, who knows.

There are too many things that align for us with this one to finish runner up for the second cycle in a row with the class’s premier RB.If DGG was a true in-state kid I think that would be fair but he’s not.
If the kid wants to be closer to home and is enamored with Ohio State that’s not the fault of Sims.
Only way I’ll have questions is if we miss on Tyson Robinson and Asa Barnes as well.

Barnes and/or Robinson would be great, but they’re not elite on the level of DGG imo, and also not a short drive down the street. Of course a class with 2/3 very good RBs would be an acceptable consolation for not getting the elite guy. But as I said, lots of things on our side here. Not saying fahr anybody, just saying if we don’t get him i believe it’s fair to ask whether Sims can recruit at the elite level we need him to. We are so damn close, we need to be our best in every possible aspect.
