'27 TN RB David Georges

Eh, we’re a contender now. Beat Bama 2 of 3. Make a kick and beat UGA. Shockingly nega from this crew.

Win the elite recruitment and maybe it gets you over the top.

We are good at spotting portal talent when it’s available. The availability of a guy you can land and pay is what’s not guaranteed.

Honestly I’ve heard every version of y’all rabidly defending the staff. You’ll do it until the wind blows a different way. I think Sims is fine but I don’t think he’s elite if we miss on the elite RB two cycles in a row, esp in this case with him down the road.
I do not think the assistant makes any difference if a kid making a money decision. And sometimes a kid has a dream and it is not your school, or your coach, or the assistant.

Hiter talked about Tony Alford non-stop.

I never heard that from our writers that we got bullied off Hiter due to money. Seemed like we had him and then mom got involved. Maybe I’m wrong.

Unless my question was whether he is elite, in which case you just backed me up. Which it was, and you did.
Which is the better coach; the one who can land the #1 RB and rely solely on his talent, or the one who can land a top-10 RB and develop them, coach them up, and make them better?

Simply not landing the #1 recruit and judging a coach based on that alone seems myopic. The great coaches don't need the best player(s) to produce elite results.

Kid grew up liking Ohio State as his dream school. Ohio state just won a national title. They’re also closer to “home”. And they just put two RBs in the league off that title team. I’ve said for while that I believe he ends up at Ohio State much like I said Bowman ends up here. I would love to be proven wrong here though.

I guess you missed the part where I said a coach didn’t need to be an elite recruiter to be a good coach. If we don’t get DGG, I’m just gonna assume what you said will be more of the blueprint at RB under Sims.

The people saying if we don’t prioritize RB NiL-wise it’s not on Sims are right, but again I was always told we came with a competitive offer for Hiter and I assume we will here as well. We will have every chance here. And idk how else to judge whether a coach is an elite recruiter other than does he land the elite recruits.

@benholt06

I wrote out something pretty clever to drag you, and lay waste to you. It was an epic drag, if i do say so myself. I use to enjoy that...esposing the fool you seem to be wanting to be exposed. To be honest, not anymore, though. Too many fools! Tomorrow I may feel different...go back to enjoying it again.

Tonight, ill choose to believe your D8 has kicked in, and leave it at that, while showing the entire exchange between you and I. In it, one will see, I havent really said anything about Sims, at all (a subject I may actually agree with you on...to an extent). Those "prevailing winds" are blowing in another direction, dude.

Have a good night. Enjoy the gummy! Go Vols.

Also, i havent been on the board a decade. Not even close.
I get it. Things are going well and entire staff is untouchable.

Lots of advantages to give Sims a head start. Like I already said, I’m kinda confident he can do it.

Would it also be unfair to ask why Lewis should be the most talented in that room on paper but is last in rotation? Can it all be attributed to youth? I’m sorry I know y’all don’t like these questions.

Who said Lewis is the most talented on paper? I dont believe that at all, just from what I see in the games. His burst is nowhere near Star Thomas, and it's not even a question that his strength doesn't compare to Bishop. He may be the fastest, straight line, but thats it.

I believe Morris is way more talented than Lewis, as well.

I‘m hoping after some on job training this year he breaks out next year if he’s still here.

But Sims recruited him. So if all you said is true then there’s at least some level of culpability there.

I didnt say a word about Sims. I was only commenting on you saying Lewis was the most talented in the RB room, which I completely disagree with.

That‘s not what I said. I said he should be on paper. Probably has a NIL deal commensurate with a 4 star signee.

Why should he be on paper? Because he "probably" has a better NIL deal than the others?

I will say, I've expected more out of Lewis, based on his speed and some things we've heard; but, on the field, he hasn't really impressed me much. I believe we should go 2 backs from here on out, with Morris (if healthy) being the 3rd back off the bench. Won't say Lewis can't come around...just so far, three other backs look better, imo.

I want to land Georges, too; but, in no way do I believe its an indictment on Sims if we don't. We led the SEC in rushing the last two years, and RB play so far this year has looked pretty good. Believe we went away from the run too much against UGA.

Yes. It’s important in this era when the rankings heavily influence how much players are paid before they really see the field. A team needs to allocate every dollar wisely.

It‘s not an "indictment" on him if we don’t get him, but I wonder how much more he needs in his favor to land the top guy. Plays a short drive away. Unique background with friends from same background at Tennessee already. Didn’t we host Hiter more than any school and basically everyone thought we had him? We don’t have a RB signed this class. Depending on the portal is frankly a gamble. I’m fine with RB production this year and I don’t think a position coach necessarily has to be an elite recruiter to be a great coach. But I like to know where our elite recruiters are at.

First, I have no idea what Lewis' NIL deal is, and I have no idea what it compares to the others.

Second, I could get more on board with what you're saying if it wasnt OSU. You're talking one of the three best programs in the country. That itself alone can cancel out ALL of the positives you laid out, going for UT.

We did host Hiter more than anyone. I thought we'd land him, was shocked we didnt. However, Michigan won the NT just two years ago, and has beaten OSU the last 4 or 5 seasons. Stuff like that goes a very long way, just like sucking for over a decade does. Some want to believe the stench of suck can go away easily, but it doesn't. We need to win the SEC Championship or National Championship to be TRULY considered in that top tier league with a OSU or Bama or UGA. We're right there, knocking on the door...but, I dont believe we get in until we win a championship of some kind, or are consistent playoff players.

Lastly, I no longer look at the portal as no bigger gamble than HS signees. Elite talent both places, and we are VERY GOOD at spotting it in the portal.

Name one thing that would indicate he’s an elite recruiter.

I don’t have an issue with production at RB in general but you can’t put Samp’s development on a guy who just got here before his last year. Maybe Bishop but it was pretty clear he was underrated early.

Look, y’all have done the same thing for years, with every staff here. It’s tedious and I’m bored with it.

You're not too bored with it...you haven't been able to stfu about it for 9 hours now.

That‘a because you always come in 4 hours after it’s done to pile on, with the same old same old. Marco isn’t usually as bad as you and Josh. You ride the board’s prevailing sentiment and can’t wait to gang up on whoever doesn’t. You’ve been doing the same thing for YEARS. Idk how tf you’re not tired of it.

You havent a clue who I am, gonzo. I havent piled sh!t today. All ive done is ask you a couple of questions about Peyton Lewis, and add some statements to your replies...even going so far as to say I could get on board with you. To hell with that, though...don't want to be on a bus with a driver who forgets where he's going.

Idc who you are but I have def seen you do the same thing here for prob a decade. I’m here for football, not confrontation.

@SugarCC

If you jumped in to talk about Lewis you did it by immediately misquoting me. But I don’t think that’s why you jumped in.

But it’s past time to wrap this up. More hilarious weed-related humor next time, I hope.

I was asking about Lewis, someone I have talked about with a many other people...he's one of my main talking points, RB room, of the season so far.

Don't let the load convince you're a mind reader now.

Nah I’m a VN reader. But okay, I believe you.

Can my aunt have her marijuana jokes back now?

We finished in top 2 for best, most dynamic back in 25 class. And he's got us in the best, most more dynamic back in 26. Ultimately ifs and buts...but, if anything fact we went and got who we've got in this class says we are all in.

yes recruitment is important, but that NIL factor is moreso.

I think we get a portholer in the winter porthole. Honestly, looking around. Best RB's are the G5, and lower tier kids with experience. DGG is the only HS back ive seen to gaf about, in 27. Fart Bothwell is example.

Staff wanted Hiter. But this system is so plug and play at RB. Star Thomas is a beast. Who's have thunk?

If that was the case our writers totally misled our fan base for a monthly fee of $9.95. There was no report of that fact except we were deeply in it.
